Happy Saturday

I took down a small framed item and replaced it with a blue and white platter.

I like it because it carried out the blue and white theme of my lamp. I found a platter hanger while I was organizing in my attic. Wish I had found it sooner.

Bathroom with Blue Willow Wallpaper

The exposed brass pipes let more of the wallpaper show and the glass lets are a nice touch. The gold faucet and light fixture carry out the theme. Not sure how the hot and cold water works. Maybe that knob on top of the faucet regulates the temperature. I love the marble counter and high backsplash. All this works very nicely in a small space. I love looking at other people's choices for decorating their homes. via

Blue and White on a Kitchen Wall

Just my style! I love this kitchen wall and the artful arrangement of the owner's collection of blue and white Staffordshire serving pieces. The artwork is perfect and the Staffordshire figures add a bit of color and interest. The decorative shelf supports are lovely but don't compete with the wall arrangement thanks to the white paint. You have to look very carefully to see the subway tile backsplash. There is so much to absorb in this single photo found in Victoria Magazine. Enjoy looking and have a great weekend. xo

Blue and White Bathroom to Love

I especially love the charming ticking slipcover on the chair holding the towels. I love the short pleated skirt. Everything else is pretty nice too, especially the beautiful tub. via

My Bedroom Curtains Drying in The Sun

I washed my bedroom curtains today in the tub and put them on a drying rack in the sun to drip dry on this windy day. Ironing was a snap and they look so nice and fresh in my room.

They are hanging wrong side out on the rack and the back sides are somewhat faded in places. The fronts are still bright as new. I made curtains for a big double sliding glass door in 1972 and have remade curtains from that fabric for every place I have lived ever since. There is still a lot of life left in these curtains made from 46 year old fabric. It is woven with no right or wrong side. If it were a printed design, they wouldn't have lasted this long. Blue and white checks forever.
