Saturday Cleaning Frenzy

An early Saturday morning view from inside my vestibule looking out at a rainy walkway. The day got progressively better and the sun came out after lunch which was an unexpected surprise.

I had other plans for my morning so I didn't mind the rain. I woke up knowing I was going to give my bathroom a deep cleaning and I did.

It's such a good feeling to finish a job well done, isn't it? I have turned on my heat several times and I wanted to get out my radiator brush and give mine a good cleaning. This room has the first one I've done. I cleaned the floor and every surface and I am so happy. Now that I see the photos I think I'll get out my new ladder and do the light fixture too. I didn't think of it today. Have a great Sunday. xo ~ Posting Saturday night 8:30 pm

Bathroom Decor at My Cottage

It took a while to get all the perfect things for this wall in my bathroom and I love each and every item. I'm pretty sure I have shown this before but this is a brand new photo. The small oil painting below the shelf is the most recent purchase and that space was blank.

It's a local scene (oil on canvas) after the rolling hills have been cut and the round hay bales have been scattered about. All land owners who have farm assessments must mow their fields prior to August 1st every year and it's lovely. I purchased the painting at a local estate sale last year and I think it's perfect on my gallery wall in my bathroom, don't you? xo

Two Home Repair Photos in My Cottage

This is a partial photo of the full bath on my lower level. My handman had to totally demolish and replace the sheetrock on the soffit above the sink. It was water damaged due to a roof leak. It was on-the-job training for my young handyman but he did an amazing repair. One coat of paint was all it took for complete coverage and I couldn't be more pleased. This bathroom has a big walk-in shower, and a window. I kept the original toilet from the 1930s too. There are white marble tiles on the floor and plain white porcelain tiles on the inside of the shower. The door you see reflected in the mirror is the front of the batten door that was fully opened for this photo.

My guest room/dressing room is back in order again after some badly peeling plaster wall repair and the ceiling vent back in place. I turned on my central air for the first time this morning because it's going to be 94° today. It might be my imagination, but it seems to be more effective with the addition of the louvered fins behind the duct cover(s) throughout the first floor. I am still organizing and spring cleaning but the end is in sight. The month of May certainly zoomed by, didn't it? xo

Black and White Bathroom

Simplicity at its best. I love it all, don't you.
You can never go wrong with a black and white bathroom. The black ceiling is an unexpected touch and I like it. via Have a great Sunday and enjoy the first day of May. xo

! Best Powder Room !

The black floating sink inset into the white wood paneling is absolutely stunning. What a wonderful design for a small space. It's just wonderful! Tour other rooms in this Houston home here. Enjoy! xo

Vintage Sink Repurposed in A Laundry Room

This laundry room is small but mighty. I love the vintage sink finding new life here. I think it could be a bath room or powder room too. I love it!

Moving Bathtub in Switzerland

Click to view: This is the most bizarre thing I have seen in a long time, maybe forever.

It is a moving bathtub on a rail, like a railroad car, that goes outside overlooking a backyard. I was going to try to copy it but it's better viewed in the link above. So very strange😱

White Tile Love in a Bathroom

I love this selection of white on white tiles, don't you. The marble top on the sink with exposed plumbing is beautiful too. Have a great rest of the weekend. xo

Bathroom Beauty

This is perfection. I wouldn't change a thing. The floor appears to be old wooden floors that were painted gray. I love the shiplap walls and everything else. Yes, every single thing. via

Stunning Bathroom with Gallery Wall

There are no words to describe my love for this bathroom designed by Christopher Peacock. I have seen many of this firm's bespoke kitchens at realtor open houses and they have all been works of art.

Beautiful Bathroom in Every Way

Here we go again with beautiful wallpaper in a fabulous bathroom. I love it all from the cafe curtains to the large mirrored wall. I wish I could see the rest of the room to see the storage area for all the things we usually hide in under-sink cabinetry. Who knew plumbing could be lovely? I love all the polished nickel silver fixtures. via

A Really Spectacular Bathroom

This custom bathroom is definitely not a cookie cutter example. Every inch is custom including the tiled ceiling. The marble sinks with the brass surrounds are quite spectacular, aren't they? I would love to see the rest of the room to see where the owners store their "stuff". I can't see a place for even a tube of toothpaste unless those mirrors open up to medicine cabinets. Photo found here.

Very Formal Bathroom

No detail was overlooked in the design of this very formal bathroom. I like the hand-held shower fixture in the built-in bathtub. The tub looks vintage and probably has claw feet that might have been too casual for the fine woodwork. I like the framed butterfly collection. The urn over the door and the presentation is worthy of a museum. The arched tunnel for the vanity is another nice touch. It's a masterpiece in every way! via

Antique Wooden Bowl in Bathtub

What a great find. You could look forever and not find an oblong bowl that would fit within your bathtub but this old house owner did. Found on this Instagram account that is a delightful mix of authentic antique decor. Enjoy. xo

Bathroom with No Tile

This delightful bathroom has wooden floors and walls. It looks old fashioned, yet modern and I love it. No grout always wins for me! photo source
