Outdoor Shower - Summer Pleasure

I had an outdoor shower here at the cottage and I miss it. I didn't winterize it properly one year and the outside pipes blew up.😢😢I did it successfully for many years but one year the temps got way below zero and I don't think I had drained the pipes. Luckily, the hot and cold faucets are still fine.

Outdoor Shower Love

This tropical outdoor shower looks quite private and inviting. via I am all set to hunker down for the next three days when the tropical storm/hurricane comes my way. It's very overcast this Sunday morning and the wind is already kicking up. Be safe if it's coming your way too. xo

French Norman Manor House Pool and Garden

Here is the pool house for a circa 1926 French Norman manor house from last week's house and garden tour that featured several Mountain Colony estates in the Somerset Hills. This home was first on the tour and I neglected to photograph the home itself. Boo hoo. It was designed and built in 1926 by architect Eugene Mason as his family home. Don't you love the outdoor shower? The details of the bronze shower head are too dark in my photo but it's a similar smaller variation of the dolphin fountain's spout. I also like the way the drain was inset so attractively in the shower floor.

The property has been placed in conservation and is one of very few original Mountain Colony estates to remain intact. The distant mountain views when you step out of the main house are amazing. I am definitely taking my big camera to the 2012 tour sponsored by the Garden Club of Somerset Hills. Click to enlarge any photo.

Outdoor Shower Raspberry Jam Love

Perfect way to start the day. Who doesn't love an outside shower?

My New BFF (Best Frog Friend)...

Look what I saw peeking out of the big round black rubber tub that holds my garden hose. Sighting occurred while taking an outdoor shower this morning. Mine has hot and cold water, a big rain shower head, and a nice mahogany platform. I am so glad I put it in when remodeling my cottage. It is one of the best things I ever did. There are two extra faucets down below so I can water the garden and give the dog a bath. You'd be surprised how often I find the need for hot or warm water outside. It is right outside my laundry room so it was easy. I drain the system and turn off the water in the fall.

For ages I have been meaning to switch this orange hose with a black one that's attached to the faucet on the side of my house. I am so glad I didn't. Mr. Frog looks so handsome on a colored background.

Do you think he's a prince? Should I kiss him? Nah! I would rather have a frog or a toad.
