NEW BIRD PHOTOS

Mourning Dove looking to the right,

Here she is looking to the left with her tail feathers in the water.

Male cardinal feeding from the ground.

The sun was at the perfect angle to capture this male cardinal's true color. He wears his red feathers proudly, doesn't he?

Enjoy this lovely Sunday.

Bluebird Sighting This Morning

February is the month Eastern bluebirds start their search for a nesting spot. I looked out my bathroom window and saw one sitting atop my bluebird house this morning and I was thrilled. By the time I returned with my camera he was gone. This photo was one of my bluebirds that landed on my balcony railing and you can understand why I find them so thrilling, can't you. There is another photo of this handsome guy on an old blog post of mine HERE. Have a great Sunday.

House Finch

A male House Finch tucked himself into the spruce trees while the December 2022 arctic front moved in. He's beautiful and looks quite snug. ©riverwindphotography

HOUSE FINCH

They are very plentiful at my feeder and I only have black oil sunflower seeds. They have a very distinctive beak to crack them open.

Red Cardinal Monday

Mr. Cardinal this morning in my front garden enjoying his perch under the bird feeder in a softly-falling rain. His mate is with him but I can never get them together in one photo.

You can see the falling raindrops in this animated photo.

Enjoy your Monday.

ONE MORE added at 4:00 in the afternoon.
This one shows a chickadee at the feeder,
the cardinal on the cement ball,
and a ground feeder.

KAREN HOLLINGSWORTH Oil Paintings

Don't you love them? I first discovered this artist on Instagram and just had to find out more. At first, I thought the realistic work was photography but learned she was a talented artist and did realistic oil paintings. See more of her work here. Her website is amazing and has many links within to see her work. Enjoy and have a great weekend. xo

Portraits of A Bluebird on My Railing

He looks like a boss, doesn't he?

I was thrilled to get two good poses today when he landed on my balcony railing. I still get a thrill every time I see one.

Home is where the💙is.

Mourning Doves at My Cottage Today

I took this photo in the morning before it started snowing. It was cold as you can see by the puffed up one on the left and I am thrilled that the one on the right is turned to show his true colors.

I got a nice frontal profile on this one. The first snow was just a nice dusting that I could sweep away with the greatest of ease -- my favorite kind. xo
