Copper Cookware Love + Dahlia Day 6

I hope this kitchen has a full time copper polisher and I'm sure it does because it belongs to Martha Stewart. This lifetime collection is amazing and so very beautiful. I need to do some metal polishing myself, both silver and copper. Dust and tarnish are my personal indoor housekeeping enemies.  View the slideshow and see 14 photos.
See my own copper pots HERE and HERE.

See an old post of mine about how I polish my brass and copper HERE.

Day 6 -- I got down low enough with my camera that the nibbled petals don't show too much along the top edge. Pam wanted to see the center and there are petals in that location still in the process of opening. I honestly thought it was going to be a center like that of a daisy but I think eventually the center will disappear. We shall see! xo

It exhausts me just to look at that picture. I'll have to say "pass" on copper pots.

I have to admit that Martha's copper collection is stunning and she looks pretty in the middle of all of it--casting its rosy glow on her. I'm starting to pare down the excess in my cooking/baking equipment and it feels good!

Rosemary, I am surprised that the dahlia is still opening--amazing! It's a beautiful work in progress. I thought the center would be a contrasting color, too. Looking forward to tomorrow's pic!

OMG, the copper collection is truly beautiful! I love having clean and shiny metal surfaces! I don't mind polishing copper and silver as I've found products and methods that work so well, and so quickly. Silver especially. I just put it in an aluminum pan, sprinkle baking soda over the tarnished pieces, pour boiling water over them, and voila - the tarnish just flies off, and I have instantly sparkly clean silver! But brass has me stumped. I've yet to find a method or product that is both fast and thorough. I have to resort to brass polish and elbow grease. If you or any of your readers know of a magic bullet for polishing brass, Please tell me!

Lisa D. -- I use Barkeepers Friend on Brass and Copper.

Doesn't Barkeepers Friend scratch the shiny surface?

Lisa D. -- I haven't noticed scratches on any of the old brass I have polished with Barkeepers Friend. I spray on Mrs. Meyers Cleanday first. I even have a blog post with my method below:

https://contentinacottage.blogspot.com/2016/04/my-metal-polishing-products-and-secrets.html

Try it on your least loved piece of brass. Or if you have a pair of brass candlesticks use my method on one and your old method on the other and see if you like my rinse off method better. All of my brass is antique or vintage and nothing has a lacquer coating. Who knows what method has been used on my things in the past so any minor scratches that are done by me aren't noticeable after the final buffing and my lazy method is better than leaving them tarnished.
