I scanned the dog from my antiquarian book on Royal Crests. After inserting the Irish proverb and putting it on a bed of shamrocks it became perfect for St. Patrick's Day. via

Goodnight (from Finland)

Finland must be the perfect place to really enjoy winter. This beautiful night on a lake was photographed by Mikko Lagerstedt.
Stealing Webster's Bed
This bed is mine now, says Piggy. Webster doesn't even care. This sheepskin is near a radiator and under a window so it's a perfect guest bed.
Unique Kitchen in An Old Southern House
The hub of the house is also its dressiest room. Over the FiveStar stove is a silver-leaf Napoleon III mirror. The chandelier was fashioned from a pair of antique bronze sconces
The owners wanted the kitchen to have the feel of a traditional dining room — which it was, before the renovation. The sink resembles a buffet; the nine-foot-long oval island, a dining table.
The kitchen's light-filled bay window opens onto a patio and garden. More Photos: House Beautiful

Goodnight from Piggy
Piggy is fast asleep in his crate and I can hear him snoring across the room. He's exhausted, having been on three long walks since I picked him up after lunch. Webster is happy to see his little friend. Tabitha tolerates him and he ignores her and that's just perfect. His humans are on spring break. See you tomorrow.
Have a Great Weekend
Be sure to take your dog along if you plan on doing anything really exciting. via
Overslept this Morning
I know exactly how Maddie the Coonhound feels. I got up at my her regular time to let the cat out and went back to bed. It was almost 9 o'clock when I got up again. I'm still adjusting to "fast" time.

Happy Pi Day
Click here if the video box doesn't load for you.
The town of Princeton, NJ goes all out for Pi Day every year. It's for math geeks in celebration of the equation 3.14 and it's also today's date 3/14.
Sheep in The Morning
Sheep in the morning. The sun has burned off the mist where they are grazing but hasn't reached the valley behind them. via

Great Sandwich Shop
This looks like my kind of place! If I ever go to Austin Texas, I will definitely check it out. via
Dog in A Wheelbarrow

I'm posting this photo because it gave me such a good idea. I have a big contractor's wheelbarrow in the garage and the body is hideous orange plastic. I rarely use it and keep it hidden. The first nice day, I'm going to fill it up with warm water and give Webster a bath in it. One of my outside hose connections has hot and cold running water. He's pretty stinky at the moment and he will love it. via

Mad Men Season 6 Poster
I was just wondering when this was going to start up again and now I know. via
Incense Burner
I found this cute little clay teepee incense burner hiding in a drawer the other day and fired it up. It cleared the air for other smells. The cubes that came with it were supposed to smell like cinnamon but they just smelled like smoke to me. [my photo]

Marching Pigeons
Here's my gif of the day. You know you love it too. It's hard to stop watching, isn't it? via
Recent Snow
This was the back yard only 2 days ago. Now there is not a single flake to be seen. This must be Mother Nature's idea of spring cleaning. I love the way the snow on one arm of the chair has fallen away and is still attached. It seems very life-like, doesn't it?

Fox in the Snow at My Cottage
We finally got that snow the weather people have been predicting. I was surprised to see it this morning. A visiting fox is shown below.
You Smell Nice Today . . .
Let me introduce the rock hyrax, whose closest living relative is the African elephant. (Wild Arabia - BBC). Don't you love learning new things? How in the world is this cute little thing in any way related to an elephant? Please tell me if you think I am posting too many gifs. I love these moving photos! via

A Very Sleepy Hare
It's bedtime for this little hare and I'm not far behind. Thursday is my favorite weekday TV night and I'll be watching from my bed. Sleep tight. via

Gouache and Charcoal
The National Museum of Wildlife Art
This is such a good idea. Wouldn't this cake cutter door handle look fabulous on a pantry door or built-in china cabinet? How do people think to do these things? You could use something like this sideways on a drawer too. Now you have something else to look for at rummage sales! via
Cozy in The Snow
We didn't get any snow overnight. The weather report on my iPhone shows snowflakes for the next two days. I hope you are nice and cozy if you got any. See you later. via
