Dahlia and Missy Watercolors Using Waterlogue

I haven't used the WATERLOGUE APP for such a long time. I transformed that black and white dahlia I posted earlier this week into a watercolor and here it is for your Sunday morning❤️

Missy went home on Friday after 10 days with me. She was the perfect houseguest 🐾🐾and I think she would approve this watercolor edit of my favorite photo.

Simpkin 1902 - Beatrix Potter Artwork

Simpkin at the Tailor’s Bedside, c.1902 by Helen Beatrix Potter (English, 1866–1943)
This is yet another illustration that is new to me. It is very charming, isn't it. The tailor of Gloucester appears to be doing needlework in bed and kind Simpkin is bring him a cup of tea. I love the big bed with a window view. The bedding is quite lovely too. xo via

Folk Art Cat - Winter Show @ The Armory in NYC

"We generally cast our affections with dogs in the pet department, but there’s something pretty lovable about this c. 1840 watercolor gray-and-white cat. Poor mouse …"
I think this cat looks exactly like a dog. 😊

Einstein Quote about Fairy Tales

I have always loved this quote and today I discovered the perfect illustration!

æOnce upon a time the famous physicist Albert Einstein was confronted by an overly concerned woman who sought advice on how to raise her small son to become a successful scientist. In particular she wanted to know what kinds of books she should read to her son.
‘Fairy Tales,’ Einstein responded without hesitation.
‘Fine, but what else should I read to him after that?’ the mother asked.
‘More fairy tales,’ Einstein stated.
‘And after that?’
‘Even more fairy tales,’ replied the great scientist, and he waved his pipe like a wizard pronouncing a happy end to a long adventure. via

Beatrix Potter Watercolor 1898: SNAIL

Beatrix Potter
(British author and illustrator) 1866 - 1943
A Snail and her Young, 1898
Fine ink and watercolour drawing.
This is definitely a drawing I've never seen and you probably haven't either. I suppose the mother snail is watching one of her eggs hatch and she's using a magnifying glass! I never knew they laid eggs so Beatrix is still educating me. I love the red clover flowers embellishing the artwork. There must be a story behind this artwork because it took her almost a month to complete it. She must have discovered the eggs and watched the whole progress as they matured and became baby snails. She must have been the one using a magnifying glass so she transferred the process to the mother as a bit of the whimsy we all know and love in her artwork. via

Antique Pendant with Blue Bird

I am not much of a jewelry person but I would happily wear this little beauty on a gold chain. I wonder if it's engraved on the back? via
