Simpkin 1902 - Beatrix Potter Artwork

Simpkin at the Tailor’s Bedside, c.1902 by Helen Beatrix Potter (English, 1866–1943)
This is yet another illustration that is new to me. It is very charming, isn't it. The tailor of Gloucester appears to be doing needlework in bed and kind Simpkin is bring him a cup of tea. I love the big bed with a window view. The bedding is quite lovely too. xo via

Ohhh how precious! Yes indeed, that's a charming canopy bed with the linen hangings and cozy quilt. I could climb in there right now! What a sweet image of Simpkin offering tea to the tailor while he works his needle and thread. Hmmm...wish my kitties could be trained to be that attentive! LOL At least I can say that I have been sleeping in a canopy bed since the age of four...that's 58 years now, and I still love it!! Think I'll pull out my little Beatrix Potter "Tailor of Gloucester" and reread it...in bed of course!

It is sweet, and I love the expression on the cat's face. It's so cat-like and mischievous. You always find the most charming children's illustrations, Rosemary.
