Hot Chocolate Recipes

I like having this recipe for the hot cocoa dry mix. Mine will leave out the crushed peppermint candy and will probably never be served over homemade marshmallows. This recipe is worthy of being framed with the lovely poem around the edges.
Thank you Karen and Pam for mentioning in the comments that Susan Branch is the illustrator and author of the poem.

I wonder if this might be a page from one of Susan Branch's cookbooks?Over the years, I've collected several of her cookbooks and each page is a special work of art. With our wintry forecast, I think maybe I should give this recipe a try! Thanks for sharing, Rosemary!

Oh yes, I treasure my books (and magazines) and can't bear to lend them...and absolutely cringe if someone browses them, carelessly fans the pages putting a slight crease in each...or if they put a heavy book upon their lap, letting the covers split open with their own weight and no support...oh my!! Then I am scorned if I ask a person not to fan the pages, nor split the binding...so I have learned instead to become selfish with my books and magazines...and of course thin bookmarks are the only thing to use in novels, too...no dogeared pages for me...and bookjackets are often removed while perusing. I love my books!!

Sounds delicious!

Rosemary, did you see the movie "Biggest Little Farm"? It is about a couple near me who started an organic farm. It is my favorite movie I have ever seen in my entire life.

I know you would love it.

Penelope Bianchi -- Penny, Thank you for the movie suggestion. I have not seen BIGGEST LITTLE FARM but I will look for it and let you know how I like it. It sounds great, especially since it's near your home. If you say it's the best film you have ever seen, that means I will love it too.

JEANNE ILLENYE -- Welcome to my world of book collecting and being so protective of my fine bindings. You have mentioned so many ways to damage a book by handling carelessly. Some, I have never thought of too. Thank you.

Karen and Pam -- Thank you both for mentioning Susan Branch as the artist and author of the charming illustrated recipe and poem about Hot Chocolate. I will put her name in my post.

...and I recently learned of something that I need to correct on my bookshelves which is to avoid the "lean". I can see that some of mine have been leaning too long and it's damaging the binding. Just a little tidbit to share with a fellow book lover!
