Golden Laced Wyandotte Chickens

These golden laced wyandotte hens are absolutely stunning. Their patterned feathers in shades of gold and brown brown are so very beautiful, designed by Mother Nature. via

Free Range Chicken + Envious Dog

Maybe the chicken is wishing the dog could come out and play.
They seem okay with each other and the dog looks calm and wishful too. Both are beauties. Source

Chicken in the Red Clover Patch

I have lots of this red clover here and there on my property mixed in with the white clover which is predominant. I'm told white clover is better for bees because their tongues aren't long enough to get the nectar from the red clover. I have no idea whether this is true or not because I have seen red clover honey on the shelves. via

Spring in The Country

via
Spring in the country. There's nothing better, is there? Nature is unkempt and sometimes I think it's futile trying to taming it. My friend is already fretting about the crabgrass that is coming up in her lawn despite the bags of herbicides she had put down with her new spreader. I actually think she has more than I do and I have never used any chemicals. I think it all looks fine after a mowing if it's green. Weeds are a losing battle.

Chickens Wearing Hand Knits

Now I've seen everything. These girls look pretty happy, don't they? Do you knit for your flock? Images found here. Happy Monday.

Eggs for Breakfast

How do you like your eggs? I like mine with a firm yoke so I've never used this vintage chicken-shaped egg topper. This is one of the photos I put on my ebay listing to sell it. Not that getting rid of this small item will make even a small dent in my hoarding (smile). You know what I mean, don't you? I've been cleaning out drawers like mad lately and it feels good to see things leave the house in the way of donations and mailed packages. Little by little, I'm making progress and it feels great. This morning is overcast and rather gloomy and rain is on the way. See you later. xo

Realtor Open House with Chickens

I went to a great realtor open house today and they had a chicken coop. I took a short video that I put on Instagram. You can watch it here. The humans' house was fabulous too. xo

Farmhouse Love

This is a drive-by photo of the farmhouse that goes with the green barns. It is painted pale yellow. The farm buildings I featured yesterday are to the far left with a good bit of yard between the house and the shed. The previous owners had chickens. I hope the new owners do too. We had a glorious day yesterday as you can see from the beautiful blue sky.

One rooster and five hens.

This is a photo I took inside the barn of the beautiful white rooster. See other photos of the old owners' poultry here.

May I have cream too?

Wouldn't this be nice every morning? I've already had my two cups of coffee but I had to pour them myself. See you later. via

Meet Lizzie, The Daredevil Chicken

There is no work shortage for chickens these days. Click here if you can't see the video below.

This chicken named Lizzie is the official spokes-hen for a certain camera phone. She is absolutely a.maz.ing. You really won't believe your eyes! Who knew chickens had so much to contribute to technology?

Groovy Chickens

Click here if you can's see the video below. It is amazing.

Watch it full screen if you can. Are all chickens this limber? I love ads like this!

A Row of Chickens

They must be waiting for their mistress to feed them and they can't see her coming because of the tall flowers. Solution: sit on the back of the bench and wait and stare and cluck. via

Chicken to Table Breakfast

Farm fresh eggs from friends around the corner.

Two eggs with cheddar cheese.

Omelet
omelet |ˈäm(ə)lit| (also omelette) noun
A dish of beaten eggs cooked in a frying pan until firm, often with a filling added while cooking, and usually served folded over.

Ta Da -- My Breakfast this morning. Have a great weekend. It is cool and overcast and rain is predicted for later. I'm going to pull thistles from the flower bed beside my mother's deck today. Will my weeding ever be finished? Sigh.
