I woke up early this morning and my bedroom was enveloped in pink. I hopped out of bed, grabbed my Nikon, and captured this rare pink fog. This photo is right out of the camera with no filters. It was probably the result of the refracted color of the sunrise bouncing off the morning fog. It didn't last long before turning to the normal gray. I'm happy I woke up just in the nick of time. Maybe I'll have purple rain later (smile).
So many copper pots and cooking utensils. I'm glad they are all on display too. If you've got them, flaunt them. I love the open step-back cupboard and everything else in this amazing kitchen. via
This kitchen is in a NYC loft. Love the table and open cupboards. via A little country in the city is always a nice touch to soften the industrial pipes overhead.
Thank you to a reader ( francetaste ) for telling me this is the NYC loft belonging to Meg Ryan. I found the link so we can see inside! Here it is on Architectural Digest. Go inside Meg Ryan's New York City loft.
Yes. I love the floor to ceiling windows, the wide board floors, the beautiful oriental rug and the framed antique animal prints. I'll bring my own furiture. via Google Images
I like this setup better than an island. This kitchen has plenty of counter space and really doesn't need one. I'm sure this big table doubles as one when needed.
A little over a week ago, The Queen lost her oldest and best friend, Margaret Rhodes. Read the article here with many archival photos. I enjoyed seeing her during the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations this summer.
I have always liked an oriental rug on the kitchen floor. I have two in my own kitchen, one in front of the sink and the other at the entrance from the vestibule. This one is perfect in front of the stove. via
So instead of a bedside table, this room has a bedbehind table. It is also interesting to see a free standing bed. It's all pretty wonderful, isn't it? via I spy inside solid shutters and outside louvered shutters too. Bright sun must be a problem here with glare to interfere with reading. I too have a bright sun, glare problem which I intend to deal with next year. I have decided old-fashioned roller shades will be fitted on all my windows if I can find them. Wish me luck. See you later. Enjoy this beautiful Sunday. xo
This seems like a good idea but it would make me nervous having people watch me cook. Now if I were the sitter, watching someone else cook, this would be great.
I especially like it all. Actually the draperies are a little heavy for my taste but I'll take everything else. Happy Friday. xo via The ottoman is really fabulous, isn't it?
I have always been partial to mittens and this is my favorite pair. It is getting cold enough to wear them too. There is a small hole in one of the thumbs which I must repair before it gets any bigger. xo
