What a great setting. The landscaping is beautiful and there's so little grass to mow. I love the stacked sun porches too. Two thumbs up! via

Fall is in The Air
Fall is definitely in the air at my house. I have to give some serious thought to cutting the grass really short so the leaves can blow away in the wind. Maybe I'll do the front today after the heavy morning dew burns off. See you later. image source

Door for A Walled Garden
How lovely is this garden gate/door with a round opening? I like what I see of the walled courtyard too. I have someone coming later this morning to give me an estimate on painting and repairing my cottage. I love the color of this door and am considering going "dark" or "all white". I'm leaning towards dark because my cottage is near the road and next to deep woods. Road dirt and mildew would be less visible on a darker color. Will update you later. Have a great day. xo via

Gorgeous Tree Lined Drive
I love the way the sun is shining through the trees in this photo. It's simply lovely. It looks hot there just like it is here. We won't be out of mid-90° weather until Sunday. Texas stole my weather and sent theirs up here. I heard on the news last night that the high yesterday in Houston was only 72° which sounds more like San Francisco weather. It's crazy everywhere, isn't it? Webster is much, much better but he is still resting. Animals know what to do when they are feeling low and they don't rush getting up unless it's absolutely necessary. He's such a good dog. See you later. via

Maze in the Morning Mist
This man appears to be yelling for help because he's lost. Isn't this an amazing maze? I want to know more. via

Beautiful Picnic
One of the nicest things about summer is eating outside, especially if you have a wonderful view. This farmland is beautiful and the salad greens were probably just picked, eating local at its best. via
It is overcast but cool and misty on this first morning of July here at the cottage. I got in some serious mowing over the weekend and the back is looking good. I'll tackle the front one day this week in between thunder showers. See you later.
UPDATE: It's as dark as pitch and pouring rain. Thank goodness I had my gutters cleaned last week.

Landscaping in Shades of Green
My favorite landscaping contains no color other than shades of green to accent the architectural elements.

Amazing Space for Outdoor Entertaining
Wow. This is too wonderful, isn't it? I wouldn't know where to sit. I think the guests would end up playing musical chairs in order to enjoy all the views in every direction. Enjoy your Memorial Day festivities tomorrow. via

Unbelievably beautiful, isn't it? I love the bright yellow fields in England. We have similar fields of mustard here in the US. via

Outside Perfection
I love that the grass doesn't look perfect. Makes me think real people live here. The urns with boxwood really "pop" with no shutters on the first floor. via
