Antiques at the Bottom of The Stairs
I love this arrangement at the bottom of the stairs in an old house. The built-in bench is wonderful. The antique table is full of wonderful things, the man in the portrait is handsome, the wood in the basket is handy for a nearby fireplace and an antique sidechair completes the arrangement. The original poster said she wanted to straighten the portrait. I agree. Smile.

Mary Delany Flower Collage 1776
Narcissus by Mary Delany (1776)
Narcissus Tazetta (Hexan. Monogynia), from an album (Vol.VI, 98); Polyanthus Narcissus. 1776 Collage of coloured papers, with bodycolour and watercolour, on black ink background.
How very lovely!Mary Delany (née Granville) (14 May 1700 – 15 April 1788) was an English artist, letter-writer, and Bluestocking, equally famous for her "paper-mosaicks" and her lively correspondence. Her biography reads like a fabulous historical novel. Collage source: British Museum

Cats Wearing White Collars (Ruffs)
Marie Cécile Thijs - White Collar Series
CATS WEARING AN ANTIQUE ELIZABETHAN RUFF
CATS WEARING AN ANTIQUE ELIZABETHAN RUFF
'White Collar' is one of the newest autonomous photo projects of Marie Cécile Thijs, which she started in 2010. The models are wearing a 17th-century antique ruff collar that belongs to the collection of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Because this collar is so delicate and rare, it was photographed by Marie Cécile Thijs separately in the Rijksmuseum and placed afterwards on her models by way of digital imaging.
She used human models too. See all of these fabulous images here. See all 14 images here.
