Walking to Dinner Out Yesterday Evening

A realtor friend invited me and another friend to join her for an early dinner yesterday evening at 6pm. This is a quick photo of the approach to Jockey Hollow Bar and Kitchen in Morristown NJ. It was a lovely evening and fun walking around town a little beforehand. I found a parking spot right away as I'm always early and I picked up my friend who doesn't like to drive at night. We celebrated the sale of her house and still got home early. I have toured many of the upscale apartments here over the years but had never been to the restaurant. https://www.jockeyhollowbarandkitchen.com

Located at 110 South St. in Morristown, N.J., the Vail Mansion was built by the first president and chairman of AT & T, Theodore Vail. The first floor of the mansion was originally designed to house Mr. Vail´s collection of art and family inventions, while the second floor was to be his living quarters.

A project architect designed and supervised the restoration of this 1918 Palladian building as part of an adaptive reuse project. The upscale condominiums are beautiful with many amenities. https://www.ctsarch.com/vail-mansion-morristown-nj

Chicken & Rice with Carrots

I made chicken & rice with peas yesterday and added sliced organic carrots for tonight's dinner. I love having leftovers that I can improve with added ingredients the second time around. The stoneware dish with handle has a "chimney" top and I have three of them. They are the best for microwave cooking or heating leftovers. I cooked the carrots alone for a minute or two before adding the chicken/rice to reheat on top. So good. The brown and white transferware plate is one of my favorites. I don't often photograph my food but I'm glad I decided to snap this one. xo

UPDATE: If you ever see one of these in a charity or thrift shop, RUN and grab it. As I mentioned, I have three of these and use them every day in my microwave. They were originally "As Seen on TV" as the Stone Wave Microwave Cooker at $10.00 each. Now I see them on eBay for $39.00. The handle is hollow and they are honestly just wonderful for heating up leftovers or cooking some things (like carrots) quickly. I found the original link selling them for $7.94 each HERE. I'm tempted to order more but will resist. Three is the perfect number for me. They clean like a breeze too. Let me know if you get one or more. I have never had good luck backing a potato in one. They are perfect for my chicken & rice dish. xo

Pizza Night and Inspector Morse

Does this count as eating my greens?
This frozen pizza was delicious.
A birth announcement is on my toast rack in the background. I found a marble lazy susan and have a new arrangement behind my cutting board. I love rearranging and have been doing quite a bit in the last few days. I'm off to watch an episode of Inspector Morse before I go to sleep.

I found a link on YouTube for all the full episodes in chronological order. I only watch the ones that say they are one hour and forty minutes+ long. Some are in short increments and I skip those. Every episode of Morse is a complete case that is solved so it's fine to skip. I never even tried those short ones so I don't know why they are so short. See YouTube link below.

UPDATE: I watched one of the episodes that has a short running time and it automatically went to the next segment until the full episode was finished. So don't be afraid of the short ones. xo

Here's a photo of the pizza box I fished out of my junk mail and paper recycling container I keep just outside my basement door. It is a ShopRite private label called bowl & basket. I will definitely buy it again. It was the best frozen pizza ever. They have other varieties too.
