Tara Dillard -- Tara, Good point. The days will be longer each day after today's shortest one! I love that you named your cat Laura🐾. That bird is in my memory bank too. xo, Rosemary
What a pretty bird! I had never heard of willow ptarmigans before. When I looked them up, I learned that in 1955, the school children of Alaska chose the willow ptarmigan to be their state bird. Love that!

Pam -- Thanks for looking that up for us. The school children of Alaska knew best, didn't they? I would have chosen that bird too. xo, Rosemary
Beautiful photo and ptarmigan. Don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting one. Merry Christmas.
Pam -- You will have to go to Alaska to meet this lovely bird. I think it's lovely too. xo, Rosemary
