I decorated my dish towel dryer with ornaments.
I did this last year and liked it.
Two favorite ornaments.
This is shows my fireplace blocked by the flat screen tv I bought last summer. I enjoy my tv much more than a few open fires and my house is much warmer since the heat doesn't go up the chimney. I cut a piece of pink rigid insulation to fit the opening and put an antique storm shutter in old blue paint to cover everything. I draped some cranberry beads and hung two stockings and I'm ready for Santa.

Everything is so lovely. I always enjoy seeing photos of your house.
All a delight.
Especially how you've hung the cranberry garlands.
Bought my Mom a similar Tall Thin Santa, her last Christmas. Little knowing he would soon be mine.
Do you use your phone to cast to your TV? Do not own a TV.
Merry Christmas !!
Thanks for sharing pictures of your lovely home. Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
Karen, Thank you. I hope you have a holly jolly Christmas too. xo, Rosemary
Tara Dillard -- Tara, My tall thin santa was a gift and I love having him over my sink. Glad you have one too. I could cast from my phone to my TV but prefer to use my iPad instead. I cut the cord with cable years ago. I was watching a show recently about rearranging and inexpensive redecorating homes that were not selling. One young couple had to completely empty their bedroom except for the bed. That meant the TV that was hanging up high on the wall too. The wife said she didn't think she would be able to go to sleep without it and I'm that way too. I can stream to my laptop too. The cranberry garlands seem to be everyone's favorite Christmas decoration and I love them too. Hope you have a Merry Christmas too. xo, Rosemary
GrammaGrits -- I'm glad you are enjoying photos of my Christmas decor. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year too. xo, Rosemary
I just love how pull everything together! I have so much fun looking at all of your treasures - and putting that dog picture on a chair! Now why didn't I ever think of that? What a neat idea that is:) Merry Christmas! Greetings from the Pacific Northwest - xoxoKaren
I love your cosy cottage, Rosemary. Reminds me of my grandparents old farmhouse deep in the countryside.
Christmas has arrived at your cottage. It's perfect. I hope you're staying warm, Rosemary. We have -30 degrees and strong winds today. Santa better turn up the heater in his sleigh this year.
Pam, -30 degrees is unthinkable to me and it must feel much colder in the strong winds!!!!! Be careful and stay inside. I know you are organized and content to stay indoors and finish wrapping packages. It's 8 degrees here and windy too but tomorrow it's going to be 17 degrees as the highest temp. BRRR.
Yes, Santa had better have a heater. xo, Rosemary
Tasha T -- Thank you. I'm glad my cottage evokes fond memories of your grandparents'farmhouse. Deep in the countryside sounds perfect to me. xo, Rosemary
Karen -- Thank you for all of your kind words about my decorating. I enjoy having the dog painting on the chair because I can enjoy it. I had it in another place for a long time one day it dawned on me to move it there. Have a wonderful Pacific Northwest Christmas and I'll do the same in North Central New Jersey. xo, Rosemary
A good idea to place the TV in front of an unused fireplace. At Christmas, it would be fun to show one of those Netflix videos of burning logs in a fireplace - Kind of a "fool the eye" Trompe-l'oeil. Best Christmas wishes to you.
Eileen in Fla. -- Great idea. I will look on YouTube for a video with the YULE LOG. Thank you! Have a very Merry Christmas. xo, Rosemary
Merry Christmas. Your home is lovely. I especially like the use of the drying rack. Saw one years ago at estate sale and now wish I had bought it!
Pam -- I hope you have another opportunity to purchase a vintage drying rack. I decorated mine with ornaments last year and loved the look enough to do it again this year. I actually use it to dry dish towels too. xo, Rosemary
