Old Fashioned Laundry Room

I have a "thing" for old porcelain sinks and this is one that's new to me. Love the overhead pull-down drying rack. This might be a country kitchen too. Anyway, there are other laundry rooms here for you to check out. My own kitchen sink wears many hats as a potting shed sink, dish-washing sink, hand-laundry sink, hair-washing sink, and can rise to many more non-culinary occasions when called upon. XO

I also love the old porcelain sinks & really like this one. I am glad to hear that someone else uses their kitchen sink for many different purposes, as I do. When I moved in I remodeled the kitchen & put in soapstone for counter & sink. I find it is very forgiving & even wash paint brushes in it. I love things in a home that are a workhorse. I always say it can't just be a pretty face!

...all is grace!

Anita ~ the cabin on the creek -- Anita, I couldn't agree more about owning multi-functional items. I can't wash my paint brushes in the sink because I have a septic system so I try to schedule any painting projects for spring and summer when I can wash them outside with the hose. My farm table has been a workbench this week and it continues to be a workhorse for so many projects. Thanks for your always welcome comment. xo, Rosemary

I always love thinking about how people functioned in their spaces, years ago. When you look at this first sink (it's amazing), there is limited space, but those old porcelain sinks were real work horses. My grandmas did everything imaginable in theirs, and so did my mom. People seemed to be able to accomplish all that they needed to get done, with limited equipment. One thing for sure, you cannot beat the charm of that old sink!!
