Not much has changed in this view except the pillows on the sofa but everything has been moved and cleaned under and over and up and down. I could have hired someone to do it but I really wanted to do it myself so I would know it was done right. It IS possible to catch up and I am determined to keep going until everything is in apple pie order. Have a great weekend, what's left of it. xo

It's so satisfying to complete projects, and we all know if you want a job done well, it's often best to do it yourself. I'm right there with you, Rosemary! Hope you get a chance to have a relaxing Sunday!
That looks pleasing to the eye, Rosemary and aesthetically satisfying. I have a little basement apartment here in my cottage, as well. It is done up with an old pineapple rope bed and a bamboo-type sofa and chair. The tie that binds is a wonderful Soleiado French toile in red. I'll send you pictures one of these days, okay? Do you plan on having an Air BnB? ~Guestie
UPDATE: I do not plan to have an AirBnB. This space was for my mom when she was alive and I actually bought this property for that purpose and for my caretaker should I ever need one. I can age in place here and that's a great comfort to me.

and in retrospect... I realize now that she used 'work' as a way to cope with the various stresses of life.

tammy j -- Tam, My grandmother devoted one week for each room in her house for spring and fall cleaning. I never understood how you could spend so much time cleaning one room until now. Of course, her house was always spotless and never needed cleaning. Back then women washed walls and waxed floors on a regular basis. We actually have it pretty easy now.

I love that you have had a well thought out plan for both your mother's care and for yourself.
Everything looks so clean and tidy, as usual you have achieved Rosemary perfection. I also prefer doing my own cleaning and plan on doing it as long as I can. I'm not as fast as I use to be but I am grateful to still have more energy than most 74 year olds.
