Home Office designed by Katie Holmes

I love this room, especially the centered window flanked by bookcases and closed cabinets. The only fault I can find is with the lamp with cord photoshopped out. There really is no place to plug it in, is there? I really doubt it's cordless but if it were, the photo would be perfect.

I have been self isolating since a client tested positive for Covid-19 after a real estate showing. I am fine and all precautions were in place. I will be free to go out in a few more days. Take care and stay home as much as possible. There is so much to do in the spring, there is no time for boredom. Have a great long Memorial Day weekend too. xo

Rosemary, I'm sorry to hear that you were exposed to Covid-19, but I am glad that you took precautions, and you're always so optimistic--such a great quality to possess. Sending you hugs and high hopes for all to go well for you! Take care and enjoy the weekend. xoxo

Here is how it could possibly plug in. If the cord were to be cut off at the plug and made to go through a small hole in the top of the desk, stapled to the leg of the desk, put through a very small slit in the rug, then the plug put back on and plugged into a socket in the floor. Those are common now. I do it all the time for clients and myself. A very small slit in the carpet will accommodate an electrical wire. A quarter of an inch will not harm a rug. (Easy to repair later)
It would require a plug on the floor under the rug.

Lovely office. Also, they are making more and more battery operated lamps. Not for me!

Penelope Bianchi -- Penny, I am glad to hear about your professional interior designer's solution to dealing with lamp cords. I have agonized over hiding them for my entire adult life. All of my lamps are vintage or antique as I am sure yours are too.
Have a nice Memorial Day weekend!

GrandmaGrits -- Thank you for your well wishes. I am fine and my two weeks is up tomorrow and I am symptom free. I have to admit my imagination has been running wild sensing a sore throat that wasn't there every time I swallow and other things that would have sent a real hypochondriac to the ER. Have a nice Memorial Day!

stacey -- Yes. I was shocked when I heard the news. Especially since I was fearful of the realtor and not the customer. Have a safe Memorial Day.

Pam -- It is still too early to let down our guard with this invisible enemy. I have always been cautious and optimistic too. Thanks for the virtual hugs! My two weeks is up tomorrow and I am fine. Have a safe holiday this Memorial Day.
