What a truly, amazingly beautiful house. So elegant, but so relaxed and livable at the same time. I think English country style must be my favorite for exactly that reason. I read about this house on Habitually Chic.
Wow. I like the gold dot on the spine of every book you've read in your library. And being practical about soap. um..why?
To be precise, they're hounds, not "dogs" - as they could be both dogs (males) and bitches (females), the proper terms for canines in this context (no disrespect intended).
Badminton House is the home of the well established Beaufort Hunt, in the hunting country of the estate and beyond, hence the foxhounds shown in the photo. It also has been the host site in early May of one of the most renowned international three-day eventing competitions in the world, the Badminton Horse Trials, for 70 years. One of only five such equestrian competitions held annually at the international 5-star level (maximum difficulty), soon to be six (with the addition of a second one in Maryland to one hosted here in in the USA in Kentucky for several decades).
Gorgeous place that I visited for the aforementioned competition on its 50th anniversary in 1999 - thanks for sharing!
