When I was in school we celebrated this iconic President's birthday every February 12th. Now we have Presidents' Day which is celebrated next Monday so we can have a long weekend. It combines Lincoln's birthday and George Washington's birthday (February 22nd). I don't think children are taught the true dates for each President's actual birthday. What a shame.
Happy Birthday Honest Abe!

Fabulous tribute to one of my heroes Rosemary! I had a chance to visit the Lincoln Museum located in the basement of Ford's Theatre in Washington & it truly was a defining moment for me. To see the frock coat Abe was wearing on the night of his assissination in its glass cabinet was incredible. What a huge bear of a man he really was, & those massive leather boots - wow! I need to go back again!

Wonderful post honoring one of our greatest Americans! I just now stumbled onto your blog, and it's wonderful! Love your cottage, too. I will be back! Cass
