Kitchens that caught my eye + a painted shell . . .

You might want to paint some shells you pick up on the beach.

More photographs I have been saving to show you.

Shaker peg rack and hanging shelf--simple and nice.

A really "over the top" kitchen. Sophisticated and elegant.

A great painted floor in this beautiful kitchen.

I really love these decorated double sinks and the tile backsplash.

Cottage photos + others to delight you . . .

Today seems like a good day to share some photos that I've saved to my computer.

Thatched roof on an English cottage.

You know I love bookcases full of antiquarian books.

I especially love this one!

Beautiful yew hedge.

Nice screen door.

I would love to sleep in this outside room.

Love this white painted floor.

Beautiful cottage rugs for the summer.

Nice stained diamond design on a wooden kitchen floor.

A fabulous landscape by some unknown photographer.

My kind of cottage. Perfect!

I like this vine-covered cottage too.

Have a wonderful day whatever you do. See you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by the cottage for the photo tour today. ♥Rosemary

A chipmunk in my garden + an antique etching with dogs and a squirrel . . .

I can't believe how many chipmunks I see running around my property storing food for later. I was in my vestibule when I saw this one on my front wall yesterday. Could this be a sign of a cold winter? We'll just have to wait and see.

"Nuts to You" ~ A delightful etching by Marguerite Kirmse
English printmaker 1885-1954

Label on the back of the framed artwork with provenance.
Try to do this with your own antique purchases if you can.
Thanks for stopping by the cottage -- have a great day!

Sunday morning favors + photography . . .

My friend Jill asked me to feed and walk her dogs this morning. These dogs won't walk. All they wanted to do was sit on the bench with my mom. Webster refused to sit with them. He wanted to run and explore and found this play date to be a little on the boring side.

Winston, Annabelle, and Chloe with my beautiful mother. Believe it or not she is 88 years old and perfect except for her diminished vision from macular degeneration. She is legally blind but she does very well. She's my best friend.

Independence Day 2009 . . .

I scanned this photo of The Statue of Liberty from a very old Life Magazine. Have a wonderful holiday and be careful with those fireworks!
