Potting Shed Sinks To Love
It's great to have a big deep sink to use when you are repotting plants and arranging flowers. I will feature my own vintage porcelain double laundry farm sink later today. I picked up on the side of the road (with help) and it's my very favorite thing in the cottage. I'll show it as my next post so stay tuned.

Giraffe Manor in Kenya
I though we should all go on a little trip tonight and sleep in different beds. I've decided to take all of you to The Giraffe Manor, surrounded by 140 acres of indigenous forest just outside Kenya's capital, Nairobi. As well as the giraffe, the property is also home to many species of birds, large families of warthogs and the elusive Bush Buck.
Travellers from all over the world now make The Giraffe Manor part of their East African safari, the only place in the world where you can enjoy the breathtaking experience of feeding and photographing the giraffe over the breakfast table and at the front door.
The Giraffe Manor is an elegant, personally hosted, small and exclusive hotel, famous for its resident herd of giraffe. The Giraffe Manor offers a rich blend of welcoming accommodation, highly trained and friendly staff, as well as one of Nairobi's finest kitchens.
All photos from the website of The Giraffe Manor. The 1932 mansion was designed to resemble a Scottish hunting lodge. In 1974, two highly endangered Rothschild giraffe were moved onto the estate where their future generations have thrived and live today. Wasn't that a fun place to visit? I enjoyed it too, Rosemary.

Eva Cassidy ~ Songbird [Video]
Eva Cassidy really does have the voice of an angel. I didn't discover her until years after her untimely death in 1999. She was featured on The Today Show after becoming the #1 artist in the UK achieving an overwhelming posthumous recognition. This was the first music CD I ever ordered online and it's still my favorite. Songbird by Eva Cassidy

Fabulous Setting In Washington State
I'm so liking this contemporary house on Dabob Bay in Washington State. Wouldn't you spend all of your time looking and/or being outdoors? What a spectacular setting.

Happy Easter 2010
I love the image on this vintage Easter postcard. It reminds me of my early years when every single thing I put on to wear to church on Easter Sunday was brand new and sewed with love by my mother. When did she have the time? She made my brother's clothes too as well as her own. She and I always wore white cloves. So much has changed, hasn't it? We have more free time but we get less done. Happy Easter everyone. It's a beautiful day here at the cottage and there's a ham in the oven. Yum.

Vintage Easter Postcards
I love the message on the last vintage postcard:
A HAPPY EASTERMay every cloud above yougive way to skies of blue,And on this Easter morninglet only joy shine through.
I Found A Broken Bird's Egg
I found this broken bird's egg on my early evening walk with Webster last night. I photographed it against the end papers of a book illustrated with feathers and eggs. I'm glad it wasn't a blue robin's egg. It was out in the middle of an open field with no trees nearby. How did it get there? Did a bigger bird rob the nest? Boo Hoo. Have a nice Easter.
My Lens: Nikon 18-200 zoom with vibration reduction.
My Camera: Nikon D-40 digital SLR.
Time To Clean The Greenhouse
If I had a greenhouse it would be full of seedlings ready to plant outside as soon as the ground is warm enough and the danger of a killing frost has passed. That date is usually the weekend after Mother's Day but I think it will be earlier this year. I already have my geraniums outside after wintering over in the house. I can always cover them at night if it gets cold again.

Hammock Time Is Here
I've looked and looked and can't find mine. It was a nice Pawley's Island hammock that I haven't seen since I moved to my cottage in 2004. This photo from Country Living really makes me want one. Maybe I'll locate one at a garage sale in the near future. Fingers crossed. I love the screened-in porch too.
