Decorating with Snow
Pretty as a picture. via
Mother Nature is the best decorator.
It's raining today at my cottage and I'm thankful it isn't snowing. See you later. The countdown to Christmas is in full swing, isn't it? xo

The Milky Way
Is it just me, or can you see the faint outline of Santa and his sleight being pulled by reindeer in the Milky Way?

Turn Off Your Outdoor Faucet
Don't forget to turn off the water for your outdoor faucets and drain the line. It's going down to 19° at my house tonight. I winterized all my faucets a couple of days ago. We've been blessed with mild weather and today was a real shock to my system. Nesting season has arrived. google images

Path: One Shovel Wide
I shoveled for hours and have a path one shovel wide. I also can get my car out to the road and it's all cleaned off. I shoveled for hours and it felt good. Now I am going to fire up the heating pad and watch a movie in bed. What a day. Every kind of weather but not as much snow as they were predicting, thankfully. Be safe and warm. xo

Winter is Back, Sort Of
Well, it's not exactly like this but the bird bath water is frozen again. We had the warmest February in the history of weather keeping and I enjoyed it very much. I found so many rogue clumps of snowdrops growing in the woods where I dump my weeds. I dug them all up and transplanted them in my front garden where I can enjoy them when I look out my window and when I leave the house. It's time to get back to normal, without any deep snow. Please! I would love a frosty morning like this one! via

Snow Cat
Yes, it's safe to come out now. It snowed all day long at my house yesterday and somehow amounted to nothing. I would say I have 2 inches of powder this morning. I was able to sweep my walk when it quit last night with a stiff broom. I cleaned off my car too. I know most of you were not this lucky and I hope you have the same cloudless blue sky that I have to dig yourself out Sunday morning. xo

Hello December 2016
I have always been partial to mittens and this is my favorite pair. It is getting cold enough to wear them too. There is a small hole in one of the thumbs which I must repair before it gets any bigger. xo

Country Snow Scene
This is gorgeous.
I think my blood has thinned this year. We've had a very mild winter so far except for a few cold days when I simply couldn't get warm. via

Winter Bluebirds
I definitely have winter bluebirds but I can't recall ever seeing them in the snow. Isn't this a great photograph?!

This would be a good place to sit after a bit of ice skating or sledding, wouldn't it? via

Twilight in the Snow
My favorite time of day is here. I always like to be home when it gets dark. Sometimes that's hard to do in the winter when the days are short but I usually manage. I'm definitely a winter person. This snow scene with the moon is lovely, isn't it? Have a great evening. xo via
