Rogue Poppy and Raindrops

We had a nice overnight rain and I have a rogue poppy with an all yellow center. I'm not complaining but I was a little surprised since all the other centers are black. We shall see if blonds have more fun.

My Lady's Mantle was very happy this morning after capturing so many raindrops from the overnight showers. It is drought tolerant but was looking a little puny as it always does after showing off so in the spring. It is prized more for its leaves than for its flowers. Have a great weekend. xo

Photos Around My Cottage

A little iron bird awaiting real birds in the birdbath, photographed in portrait mode.

Daffodils I can see from my kitchen window photographed after a rain. These were dug up from the woods and transplanted in February during a mild winter's day.

Lady's mantle yesterday, on a rainy day on my way to the mailbox. This perennial plant never ceases to amaze me the way it captures raindrops.

My mother's daffodils transplanted where I can see them from all my back windows. Enjoy your weekend. xo

Life Cycle of a Maple Tree

I photographed this maple leaf yesterday between showers and there just happened to be a seedpod nearby. My upstairs balcony floor is absolutely covered with these little helicopters and I am surprised that I don't have a maple forest because of them. Today promises to be the first nice day in ages and I am thankful because I have to meet home inspectors at ten o'clock this morning for a pre-listing inspection. Wish me luck! Fingers crossed. See you later. xo
