Virtual Road Trip -- Wonderful Video

Story: A lonely desk toy longs for escape from the dark confines of the office, so he takes a cross country road trip to the Pacific Coast in the only way he can – using a toy car and Google Maps Street View. Have a great weekend...use your imagination the way this desk toy did!!

Adele Plans a 5-Year Break | What!

I feel as if we just got her back after her throat surgery. Five years off is way too long. I can understand the need for a vacation to work on a new relationship and to rest but don't lose your whole audience Adele. We love you. Read the whole article here and watch her music video of 'Someone Like You'. The author of the article said he/she felt like writing a breakup album. Maybe Adele will record it.

A Perfect Galley Style Kitchen

This larger than normal galley kitchen had me at no upper cabinets. I want to watch the Grammys tonight but just to see Adele who is nominated for 6 Grammy Awards. I'll probably watch it until Downton Abbey starts and record the rest. DA is two hours long tonight (hope I can stay awake) and the last show of Season 2 is next Sunday. Boo Hoo. image source

The Imperial March- Barked and Classical?

The Bark Side -- It's not the only Super Bowl ad evoking past hit movies. Volkswagen, which had a hit last year with its little Darth Vader ad, will be tapping into the Force once again with dogs barking out the Imperial March.

Darth Vader's Theme -- I wasn't sure what I was listening to at first with the dogs until I heard it played by an orchestra. I think they did a good job after I listened to the barking version again. It is going to be a Super Bowl hit!

Countess of Grantham and Lady Mary are to release a record album

Are you watching Downton Abbey? I read two press releases recently saying Maureen McGovern and Michelle Dockery costars on this wonderful PBS Masterpiece series were pairing up to release an album.

I must confess I wasn't that impressed with Lady Mary's voice in last week's episode. We will just have to wait and see.

Adele sings 'Someone Like You' in her own home [video]

It's almost impossible to listen to the radio for any length of time without hearing Adele sing this beautiful song. I was delighted to find a video of her sharing the history of this song and then to be able to hear her sing it live from her home. The house tour is amazing. I'm glad she has a sweet little dog. Watch and listen here.

This is wonderful. Make sure you watch it all to see what becomes of all of those scissor cuttings at the end. Found over at Crush Party.

The Task Continues

I'm not feeling as energized about all the hand work that remains after one full day of cleaning yesterday. Guess I'll try to whistle while I work or put on some music to keep me in the mood. See you later.

Nancy LaMott: I'll Be Here With You

How is it that I never knew about this song or this departed singer who was still performing 11 days before her death? This is the most beautiful song; a real lullaby for a person of any age. Did you already know about her? If not you may want to read about Nancy LaMott here.

Bach On a Giant Wooden Xylophone In a Forest

This is the most amazing thing you'll ever see or hear. Please watch -- I promise you will love it.
Bach’s Cantata 147, ‘Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’ Played On a Giant Wooden Xylophone In a Forest

"The video is a commercial for a phone of which there are only 15,000 being made. By combining who knows how many pieces of wood, they were able to make a long, downhill track in a forest in Southern Japan that was able to reproduce Bach’s Cantata 147, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. This is a pretty phenomenal achievement and a beautiful piece of art."

PS22 Chorus - Musical Finale at 2011 Oscars

Did you stay awake until the END of the Oscars last night? I did for the first time in years just to see the PS22 Chorus perform at the finale. They were great. Read an article from Staten Island bursting with local pride about these darling 5th graders and also today's New York Times article which explains that their tee shirts are color coded -- green for sopranos and blue for altos.

PS22 Chorus Will Open The Oscars

I'm so happy for these 5th grade students from Staten Island, NY's PS22. This talented young chorus and their fabulous music teacher will be opening the Oscars performing 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. I've been a fan of theirs for quite some time and can't wait to see them Sunday night.

Pink Freud Meets Pink Floyd

I haven't heard Dark Side of The Moon by Pink Floyd in ages. I thought it was perfect to go along with Pink Freud. It's a little early in the morning for this kind of music so you have my permission to save it for when you're wide awake.
