Dead Celebrity Font | Helvistica

This made me laugh. Elvis would have loved having Helvetica, the 1957 sans-serif Swiss font turned into Helvistica.

I've always loved this quote by William Shakespeare.
"Poor and content is rich, and rich enough."

Tuesday Morning in February

ERY beautiful flowers make everything look better. I woke up this morning to a dusting of snow and a dreary gray day. Everything's white again. I thought some images of flowers might cheer everyone up.

The font is seventeenth century French scanned from one of my antiquarian books. I thought it was perfect for this post.

"From December to March, there are for many of
us three gardens: the garden outdoors,
the garden of pots and bowls in the house,
and the garden of the mind's eye." - Katherine S. White

Happy New Year | Antique Fonts

"Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and may each New Year find you a better man." Benjamin Franklin

I designed this greeting for you by scanning a whole alphabet from one of my antiquarian books and cutting out each letter with Photoshop to spell HAPPY NEW YEAR. Isn't it nice? It took a while to do and there was no letter W. I had to play around and stitch two Vs together and it worked. It's my present to you for the New Year. I hope yours is filled with health and happiness. Rosemary

Leaves munched and crunched . . .

eaves didn't have a chance yesterday when I mowed over them with my riding mower. The grass is still growing because it has been so warm lately. I mowed over the leaves and cut the grass at the same time. That's what I call multi-tasking.
Don't you love the letter L that I copied from the coolest blog? She publishes a decorative capital letter every day, and you know how I love fonts.
I don't like this new time one bit. It was pitch black outside at a little after 5PM. Webster doesn't like it either. I know it is supposed to be good for the school children waiting for the bus but isn't it dark when they get home if they have after-school activities? I like it in the morning ... just not in the evening or should I say afternoon?
I had high hopes of doing outside errands but got so busy I never left the house on Monday. Oh well, today is another day. I have to go to do-it-yourself recycling and then I must vote. Both things will force me to deal with the outside world. Then I hope to finish my mowing.
Thanks for stopping by the cottage. ♥Rosemary

2 Skull Fonts :: Free Download

Martha Stewart had Noah Scalin on her program. He created a skull a day for one year. He has two skull fonts to download on his blog. I just downloaded them and printed the banner shown above. Enlarge for the full effect. Dark background with lighter printing works best.

Antique-loving dog + a Fireworks Video + Free Fonts to download . . .

Webster loves to rumple up this rug and use the back rung of an 18thC armchair as a chin rest. He does this all the time so it must be comfortable. It makes me laugh to see him in this awkward-looking position.

I love this font called Cursif. Looks like real handwriting.
Five Fresh Free Fonts to Download.

Here is a preview of what's coming tomorrow.
The 4th of July Fireworks in Washington D.C.
Enjoy the holiday and be safe.
