This adorable owlet should be the model for a stuffed animal, shouldn't it? It's so cute it doesn't even look real! I found it on Instagram, link below.

STORM BOY: Another wonderful movie
I never thought of pelicans as cuddly birds until watching this movie. I am amazed it is already offered free on Kanopy as it was only released in theaters in April. I have never watched a movie with Geoffrey Rush I didn't like. The book is based on an Australian children's book and repenned for the big screen as a multi-generational bittersweet film. Owl Hatches a Wood Duckling Egg
This is my "feel good post of the week". A wood duck moved her last egg to another nesting box because it had been raided and only one egg had survived. Oddly enough, a mother owl sat on the duck egg for over a month and the hatched duckling thinks he's an owl. Read the charming story here with lots more photos. Am I forgiven now for being missing for almost a week?

Duck and Ducklings
This proud mama's babies have hatched and are already almost too big to wrap her wings around. I hope I will be able to photograph some wild turkey chicks on my property this spring. Duck photo found here.

A Lamb Princess
I do believe this little lamb would look very regal even without her jeweled tiara. via

Newborn Lamb Transport in Italy
Donkey nannies in Italy.
Each year in Italy, grazing animals are moved from high pastures down to the plains. Newborn lambs are unable to make this journey on their own. Instead, they ride in the pouches of a specially made saddle on the back of a donkey or a mule nanny. They are taken down at rest stops and returned to their mothers for a bite to eat and a bit of nuzzling.

Giving Equal Time to Cats
I decided I should give equal time to cats since posting several photos featuring dogs. The engraving above is from my 19th century Royal Book of Crests and I love it. It has been posted before here and on Instagram. The photo below is of a mother cat with her kitten. Their markings are very similar and the cute little kitten is going to grow up to look just like her mom. via
Have a great Sunday, the last day of September. Whereever did the month go?
