I'm Missing Downton Abbey Already.

Sunday nights are so special with Downton Abbey. Season 5 is over and I miss the PBS series already.
I think Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes are perfect together, don't you?

Maggie Smith: The 80-year-old actress anticipates an end to her Dowager Countess role. Read the article in Vanity Fair here. She says she can't go anywhere now without someone wanting to take a selfie with her.

Another Bathroom with almost No Grout

via
The only grout here is around the floor tiles. I like it except I wouldn't enjoy those bare light bulbs shining in my eyes. I have decided that my own bathroom is pretty much devoted to tub baths now and that is working out quite well. My hair likes this system too. When I shower I never wear a shower cap and my head always gets soaked even if I'm not washing my hair. With a tub bath, my hair just gets the humidity and my little bit of natural wave and slight curl is responding quite nicely. When I shampoo, I go downstairs and use the stall shower. My bathroom is looking neater too so it's a win/win. I decided to let the new grout cure as long as possible before it gets wet. Three hours until Downton Abbey and four hours until Grantchester on PBS. Can't wait. Enjoy your evening too. xo

Best Media Room Ever.

I don't usually like flat screen TVs over a fireplace but I really love this one. Isn't this room fabulous? I love everything about it. I'm sure the Super Bowl party here will be fabulous. Me, won't be watching. PBS doesn't care and neither do I. via

Belton House - Grantham, Lincolnshire England

It's gorgeous, isn't it? via This manor house has nothing to do with the Earl of Grantham in Downton Abbey. I'm really enjoying Grantchester on Masterpiece Mystery. Are you watching?
So far the blizzard hasn't arrived at my cottage. I'm hoping it's more of a coastal thing and won't be as bad as the reporters are saying it might be. The heavy snow and winds will be here after midnight. Be safe and warm. Fingers crossed for us all. xo

I missed CALL THE MIDWIFE HOLIDAY SPECIAL 2014

Did you see it or did you miss it too?
It aired on Christmas Day.
You can watch it online at PBS here.

This will be the perfect program to watch while waiting for Downton Abbey later tonight. It's 75 minutes long. I'm so glad my friends told me about it this morning. See you later. xo

Downton Abbey Recap Must Read before Tomorrow Night

The Wall Street Journal has a great article to catch you up with each character exactly where you left off 10 months ago with the end of Season Four. Downton Abbey is starting up again Sunday night on PBS. Can't wait.

After Yesterday's Mowing

Today was another beautiful day but much cooler with blustery wind. I'm glad I picked yesterday to mow. Today I cut down some invasive weed trees with a hand saw and started raking my driveway. Little by little, I'm getting my fall cleanup down on time this year. It makes me gasp and when I think about three years ago when it snowed a lot over Halloween weekend and the trees still had most of their leaves. Maybe it was 4 years ago. Anyway, I want to stay on Mother Nature's good side this year and play nice with her so she doesn't throw another tantrum. I took this photo this afternoon from my balcony. Hope you had a good weekend too. Now off to my bed to watch Masterpiece Mystery on PBS -- Death Comes to Pemberley. Enjoy. xo

Inspector Lewis TONIGHT on PBS, Season 7 Premier

They're Back! Lewis and Hathaway and the City of Oxford, my favorite UK trio. The new season starts tonight with a 90-minute premier of Season 7 on PBS Masterpiece Mystery. Check your local listings. For me, it's on from 9:00 - 10:30 pm. The new season is only three episodes long, so don't miss the first episode entitled ENTRY WOUNDS: Faced with a crime that bridges the worlds of neurosurgery, blood sports and animal rights, Hathaway works his first case as DI with the help of his new partner, DS Lizzie Maddox. Lewis, struggling to adapt to retired life, jumps at the chance to rejoin the force when Chief Superintendent Innocent seeks his help. Very short preview here. Can't wait!

I just set my DVR to record both new episodes of Season 7 Miss Marple on Masterpiece Mystery on PBS. Tonight is going to be a wonderful TV night. I am also recording Madam Secretary and The Good Wife on CBS. I'm always happy when the good shows start at 8pm, aren't you? Happy viewing.

Pretty Soon, This Will Be Me Too.

This is adorable even though I no longer allow dogs on furniture. He certainly must be having sweet dreams on this beautiful needlepoint pillow. I'll be tucking in soon to watch and learn about The Roosevelts on PBS. Will you be watching too? photo source

Webster and Henry Hanging Out after Sunday Supper

Karen in VA requested pictures of Henry, our visiting dog. His mom is picking him up tomorrow and Webster will miss him. The only reason I have the little one on a leash is so he won't terrorize the cat. Tabitha hasn't set foot in the house since he came on Wednesday morning. If he sees her and he's not on a leash, he will chase her. He loves cats but Tabitha barely tolerates Webster so she wants nothing to do with Henry.

They have been fed, walked and watered so they are all set for the evening. I might take them out one more time before I bed down for Breathless on PBS. I can't believe it will be over after only three episodes. They really have a lot of territory to cover for tonight's finale. See you tomorrow. xo

Breathless Finale Tonight

Episode 3 is tonight and it's the finale as well. Maybe the mystery of Cyprus will be revealed. I certainly hope so. You can watch the first two episodes online if you missed them. The critics are saying it's a cross between Mad Men and Call the Midwife. PBS Masterpiece Mystery: Breathless

Masterpiece Mystery -- Breathless

It's time for me to climb into my bed for Part 2 of Breathless on Masterpiece Mystery. Are you watching it too? xo
Here is a synopsis of Episode 1 for those of you who have already watched it. Yes, it's complicated.

Inspector Lewis is back on PBS

I am absolutely heartbroken that I just discovered these two are back investigating murders in Oxford and I didn't know about it until last night. I missed the first two episodes of Masterpiece Mystery - boo hoo. I watched episode 3 last night and enjoyed it so much. I have searched and searched and cannot find full episodes online for what they are calling Season 3. Last night's episode 3 was entitled "Dark Matter" . It's very confusing because the old series was very long running and there might be an old season 3. Let me know if you find a place I can watch the first two episodes of this brand new season for 2014. I'll let you know if I find them too. The episode I watched last night is being repeated Saturday night in case you missed it. I subscribe to emails from PBS but they failed to alert me about this favorite series of mine. Anyway, I'm glad I'm glad Lewis and Hathaway are back! xo

Proceed Gently

Here's an article about this new series that should be coming to your PBS station soon. Inspector George Gently, read here. So far, only 3 episodes have aired in the US. I'm not even sure I watched the first one. You can catch up on Hulu free. I hope you can find it in your area. xo

Heirloom Tomato Tart

Doesn't this look delicious. I've looked everywhere trying to find the recipe with no luck. Recipe for this tomato cheesecake here -- thanks to gkmelton for finding it. Love the photo anyway. I am exhausted from moving furniture and burning up the road. I bought two beautiful loveseats at a house sale, a pair of lamps and a few other things. My living room looks amazing. Photos later. I will be watching inspector George Gently tonight on PBS. Hope you have something that good to watch too. xo

PBS Masterpiece - ENDEAVOUR Season 2 tonight

Sunday night Summer TV is slowly coming back. Tonight is the premier episode of Endeavour, Season 2. Didn't watch Season 1? You can watch online here. It's the story of solitary Detective Constable Morse in his youth. Season 2 returns with four riveting new mysteries written by Inspector Lewis creator and Inspector Morse writer Russell Lewis. I think I might try to watch Season 1 again next week. Set your DVRs tonight and enjoy!
