My Latest Thrift Shop Find

I found this large basket last week while thrifting.

The scale is perfect for my farmtable.

It took a while for me to find the perfect spot. I just bought this lovely handmade basket because I liked it. Actually it has resulted in being a catchall for all the junk that is usually spread all over my table and I don't see how I ever lived without this big, deep basket. The $10.00 price was right too🥰

I cleaned it out yesterday after one week and threw out 90% of what had collected. It was mostly grocery store circulars and junk mail. I am thrilled with this great "find" and more thrilled with having a neat table!!!! xo

I don't think this was a commercially made basket but possibly one of a kind. I just found this maker's mark or signature -- JPS

Rosemary, such a lucky find - I am envious! I've been looking for something similar to fill with fruit or flowers in the summer. Standing it on your table is the perfect place and I'm sure you will find it so useful for many things.

Tasha T -- Now that you have presented your request to the Universe, you will soon find the perfect basket. All I have to do is start thinking about something and pretty soon I will find it! I got a free copy of The New York Times thrown in my driveway last week and I use a single page to line my indoor compost bin. The folded newspaper fits perfectly in the bottom of this basket with room left over on either end. I think it will last a long time for my current use. The newsprint prevents any odor until I can take my kitchen bin outside to my big compost bin. Happy hunting! xo, Rosemary

I think when you find something SO perfect for the home - it was meant to be:) I can't picture your table now without it! Baskets are so great for corralling 'stuff' - don't you think? As always - I think your black tray above the window just anchors the whole room - just gorgeous!

Susan -- Corralling my stuff is no easy task but this basket has already proven it's possible. I agree with you; I can't picture my farmtable without it now. Thank you for your comment about the large tole tray hung up high. I love it too and it was another perfect find. xo, Rosemary

Lisa D. -- Yours must look fabulous sitting up high. Big beautiful baskets are hard to find in good condition. We are both lucky to have found ours. xo, Rosemary

Lovely kitchen! I have a tole tray just the size of the one hanging high on your kitchen wall and would like to know what you used to hang it? Have not found a platter hanger large enough to span the back. Appreciate any suggestions.

Franki -- I was lucky! My tole tray already had a hanger on the back and it might have been made with bent wire coat hangers. I honestly don't remember. A clever handyman could probably make one for you. I hope you get to hang yours one day. xo, Rosemary
