Last Year's Limelight Hydrangeas

I need to prune these old blooms very soon before the new growth begins. We are having a windy Friday morning in the low 40s but overnight it's going down to 19° so I will wake up to a very cold Saturday. I like this gentle movemen in this live photo set on bounce. Have a great weekend. I am trying a new layout for my blog. Let me have your comments. xo

I am just glad I have not dead headed mine yet, given it has been freezing lately!

I can't believe how relaxing it is to watch these fragile blooms sway ever so gently - that brick is so pretty as well! **thanks for posting - I always look forward to your postings! xoxoKaren

I haven't dead headed mine yet, even though new shoots are beginning to grow. It's been very cold here with snow and icy winds forecast so I think I'll wait a little longer before going to work in the garden.
Keep warm this weekend, Rosemary!

Karen, I loved watching the dried blossoms sway in the gentle breeze too. Thanks for your frequent comments and for being such a loyal follower. xo, Rosemary

Gretchen Joanna -- You have no idea how many times I have walked past and almost went back in the house for my pruning shears. This time I took a photo instead and continued on my walk. I'm glad you approve. xo, Rosemary

Tasha T -- You have new shoots already?!! I wouldn't do any pruning in very cold weather either. These woody shrubs are very hardy and bounce back whatever you do. Stay warm this weekend. There's plenty of time ahead to do spring cleanup in the garden. xo, Rosemary
