Crisp, Crunchy Leaves

This photo says the leaves are very dry and you just know if you squeezed them in your hands they would be crisp and crunchy, right? An older photo but one I like. I have gotten my house back in order since Missy was picked up this morning. Tomorrow I will shop for the dishes I am taking to a friend's house for Thanksgiving Dinner. xo

A perfect little visit from Missy. We have always had pets, but since we lost our last cat, we've been content to love on our friends' and family's pets. A person doesn't realize how much care they require until you're back in the thick of it.

I'm happy to report that I have 2 pecan pies baked (Pioneer Woman's recipe). Rosemary, I thought about trying to bake my own crusts, and when I saw how pretty the Marie Callendar ones were in the frozen section, I caved. I also made fudge. Tomorrow I'll make enough mashed potatoes for an army, lol. We are celebrating with a friend who has become like family to us, my son-in-law's mom. She has a wonderful farm house (she has a red barn, too) and we will all fit around her huge dining room table. All our kids will be there, too.

Rosemary, I am thankful for all of your contributions to all of us who follow you. You bring so much beauty to us with your lovely photos, and so often, you post interesting articles that educate us. I appreciate how you share your life with us. May you have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Pam -- Pecan pies and mashed potatoes -- yum. I am making raw cranberry relish to take to my FriendsGiving. I bought a package of 2 frozen Oronoque Orchards deep dish crusts for future pumpkin pies. I agree totally about not being a pet owner. My whole nightly schedule is destroyed when Missy visits. I like to go to bed early and watch TV. Having to get up for a 9PM walk in the cold weather is something I don't miss at all.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving at your son-in-law's mom's house. It sounds delightful with your whole family gathered around a huge dining room table. Happy Thanksgiving! xo, Rosemary
