The humble sheep is a remarkable animal. There are so many breeds throughout the world, and most of them have been bred to produce wool with certain qualities. One of my favorite types of wool is merino and I think those sheep originated in Spain. Before long, I'll be hauling out the woolens because you know what type of weather is coming...
Pam -- Sweater weather is coming but I don't want to rush it. I recently thrifted two matching merino wool blankets in sage green made in New Zealand. Finding one would have been nice but TWO for my twin beds downstairs was truly a "grab these and go" moment. They look wonderful folded at the foot of the beds with flannel sheets in a TROUT pattern. I was/am thrilled. The mattress on my bed has a final layer of organic cotton stuffed with merino wool from New Zealand. It's like sleeping on a cloud. We are grateful there are sheep in the world to clothe us and keep us warm. I never tire of looking at photographs of them either. xo, Rosemary
