This looks like a beautiful home. In addition to the indoor plans, I really like the fact that they have several porches. Although it makes sense to have a single level for aging in place, I kind of like the idea of having a few bedrooms and a bath in an upstairs space, for guests. That gives everyone a bit more privacy. As we have gotten older, we are more aware of things like safety, maintenance and the ongoing costs (like taxes, insurance, etc.). Having a good financial plan brings as much comfort as a well appointed home.
One Charlotte Court -- So many empty nesters aren't ready to downsize and give up many prized pieces of furniture so this is plan is a good option. Quite a few of my empty nester friends have children that moved back in with them! Married ones too, so their nests are full again. Student loans are one problem, the pandemic was/is another. Having a nice empty nest that is welcoming for grandchildren is a beautiful thing. xo, Rosemary
Pam, Yes! A good financial plan goes hand in hand with a good house plan. There is a lot of demand lately for houses with a bedroom and full bath on the first floor. Master bedrooms are now called Primary Bedrooms. I like this plan too with guest and visiting family bedrooms upstairs where the "mess" can be contained and out of sight😂 I like the porches too. xo, Rosemary
This house is way too big to care for in old age. I hope the couple who buys this can afford a housekeeper. Although, I didn't see a bedroom for live-in help. Unless that's what the carriage house is used for.
If a young couple can afford to buy this it would be a place they can live for many, many years. To start hey could have housemates to help pay the mortgage. Then they can put their kids in those bedrooms. Eventually those far bedrooms can even become lodging for a cook/housekeeper, gardener/handyman, day/night nurses, or whatever. It is a very flexible house.
Linda Sand -- Absolutely. If somebody actually buys the plans and builds the house I hope a young couple can eventually buy it or inherit it. Not many young couples can afford to buy land and build a new house. It really is a forever home♡ xo, Rosemary

A lovely home but almost 3000 sqft for an empty nester house? That seems enormous to me!

Linda Sand -- Maybe these empty nesters are young and are moving from a much larger home. It's a great house for a younger family too. xo, Rosemary
