Local Peacock Showing Off

I wish I had seen this in person but I know where he lives. My friend sent this photo to me and I thought it was worth sharing. He's definitely posing for the camera -- look how firmly planted his feet are! WOW.🦚
Peacocks are the most amazing birds.

What amazing color! When I was a little girl, we visited a great aunt and uncle who had a pair of peacocks on their farm. I was blown away then, and peacocks still have that effect on me. I remember learning about how their color is achieved. It has to do with dimension. Well I just Googled it to make sure my aging brain wasn't playing tricks on me, and it said their feathers absorb and reflect light to create their colors. Nature never disappoints!

Pam -- I never knew that about peacock feathers and I've always been fascinated by them too. Thanks for the information. Mother Nature surely has lots of tricks up her sleeves, doesn't she? xo, Rosemary

when I was little I remember peacocks roaming freely around our zoo.
their displays were so beautiful! and their calls were odd... HE-ELP!!!
the sound didn't match the magnificence of their feathers to me.
still they are wondrous to watch! xo
