I suppose you have to bleach the shells first. What is a "sharpied" shell? It is shell decorating with a fine tipped marker called a Sharpie. Who knew? I had to look it up. Aren't these shells gorgeous?

Yes, it would be my guess that the decorative work was done with a Sharpie pen. But, oh my, it would require a steady hand and many, many hours!
