This is a must watch film if you love John Thaw. When I finished all 5 seasons of Kavanaugh QC on Tubi I researched films starring him and I knew immediately this was a movie I would love and I did. It's heartbreakingly beautiful. Click on the link for the film on YouTube: GOODNIGHT MR. TOM

Definitely saving this link and sharing it with my kids. I've heard that Goodnight Mr. Tom is a great book, but I'm not familiar with John Thaw. As always, a big thank you, Rosemary, for your suggestions and links! xo
Pam -- There are some scenes that are too sad for younger children so watch the movie yourself first. I enjoy spreading the word when I find good movies and shows, especially if they are free. I wasn't familiar with John Thaw either but now I am his number one fan. I am watching his performances starting with the oldest ones like Kavanaugh QC. He died in 2002. He's best known for Inspector Morse. Enjoy the movie with lots of tissues on hand. xo, Rosemary
Oh yes, I'll have my box of tissues. Years ago, when I was younger, I was an emergency foster mother. Most of us will never know what some children go through. My son had been neglected and came to us at age 9. As soon as he became eligible for adoption, he was ours!! Unfortunately, many children go back to horrible conditions. Our son is now 51 years old, and we could not be prouder of him. Sorry for going on so long, but this movie brought back memories.

I'd seen this years ago, but had to watch it again. Very poignant, and painfully current. A recurring nightmare for the world. I hope there are lots of Mr. Tom's out there willing to step up for the Ukrainians.
