My Living Room Rearranged: More Views

I was standing between my attic door and front window for this view. My TV and fireplace are to the right, shown below.

The promised view of the fireplace wall and my TV viewing area. Notice my "rabbit ears" on the mantle, the only negative of cutting the cord with cable, but otherwise so worth it.

I am concentrating on outside work for the rest of the week while the weather is still nice. I always give my grass a close cutting before the leaves start to fall so the wind will blow away and make any raking I might do easier. xo

I have a love/hate relationship with my house. It's actually a lovely house, but is really too big for me and needs SO much work that it's breathtaking! Plus, it's in a part of CA that is a coveted place to live, and you being in the real estate business know that the home prices here are astronomical. Without going into any detail, I will only say that my present situation leaves me in limbo, so I cannot really move forward with either remodeling, or selling. My preference would be to leave CA. Living here has just become too much for me, however there are some rather substantial financial perks in staying. If I sell and downsize, I pay a HUGE capital gains tax. If I choose to stay, then there is the cost of doing at least some remodeling. I shouldn't really be complaining. Many people today cannot even afford the cost of buying a home. It's tragic, and makes me very sad.

I just love your living room! You have such a good eye for interesting collectibles, and your home always looks pretty and comfortable. Not always easy to achieve that balance. Good for you, Rosemary!

I have been a follower of Thoreau and Walden since a teen.
we lived a nomadic life because of my dad's career.
I learned to live with very little. it was easier to move!

The bear in the chair adds just the right touch of whimsy! *beautiful chair also. Your house would have been featured in 'Traditional Home' magazine when it was still being published - I still have many issues:)
