Charming Southern Cottage

Photo found here, originally from Southern Living.
There are so many features to love in this house.
The covered porch and windows that go to the floor
must help to keep it cool in the summer.
I wish I could find the magazine article.
Maybe there are interior views.

Gorgeous! What do you suppose caused the white on the roof by each dormer window?

It's lovely, but it does not look like a cottage to me - it looks like a house. Perhaps it just appears larger from the front.

Beautiful cottage! Love that half moon window above the front door. I just learned that they're called lunnette or maybe it's lunette. Anyway, it's such a great focal point.

Mama Pea -- I was wondering about that too. It almost looks as if the top layer of paint on the dormers has dissolved. Maybe acid rain caused it.

Lisa D. -- There is definitely more "house" attached to this cottage that we can't see.

Pam -- I love that half moon window too. The door appears to be extra wide too. It is the perfect focal point.
