Still Rearranging

The floor is clear of all the stuff that is not going to be displayed on my lower level. Some of it went to the garage, some to the loft over garage, some will be donated, some went in the furnace room and various closets and some went to recycling. I am thrilled to be able to walk in and out of the back door without the obstacle course.

I have done more rearranging and I'm still not happy with the TV. I need to elevate it or lower the picture above. I was sitting on the stairs for this photo. The cabinet in lower left is next to the yellow decoupaged cottage chest with the big clock above shown in a previous post. Happy last day of August. It flew by, didn't it? I accomplished a lot though and I'm happy about what I've done so far. xo

It sure is a great feeling to stick with a project & see it through to completion. Everything looks wonderful, & I love spaces like this decorated with yard sale or thrift shop finds. Kudos to you Rosemary for your hard work.

...all is grace!

Anita ~ the cabin on the creek -- Anita, I am still not finished but I am thrilled with my work so far. I have often thought it would be fun to decorate a completely empty house with second hand items costing little money. I can remember exactly where most of my items came from so each piece has a story to tell. I'm glad I have your seal of approval.

It's always fun to see how much progress you have made, Rosemary. Your hard work shows in the pictures of your lower level. Yes, August just flew by, and now we welcome September.

you could easily be an interior decorator. you have a fine eye for balance. I have also done some rearranging in my tiny apartment! suddenly everything feels fresh and works again.
it's always an ongoing process. and it keeps us Young! I was sure I'd hurt my back and dreaded the morning. but I feel fine. the exercises I'm doing and learned from your post on the calves and balance ... they're HELPING! Yayyy!!! XO

Pam -- September is another month to treasure and get a lot done in preparation for fall. I have renewed energy with the cooler weather too. Completing my "laundry list" gets easier and easier.

tammy j -- Tam, I have always enjoyed rearranging even when I was in my teens. I was always switching the furniture around for fun. My father said he always had to turn on the light if he got up in the night for fear the bed would be in a different place when he got back😂 My daily stretching exercises are working too and I love them. I am happy you are finding them helpful too.

Your hard work is an inspiration to us all. Regarding the tv, what you need is a "riser." Widely available in every size, shape and description (also used for computer monitors). Am trying to help my son find a suitable piece of furniture to situate his tv on. Alas, he does not appreciate thrift finds. I do. New furnishings made of "engineered wood" and no styling are crazy expensive. I'm betting you are being deluged with rain right about now. We had a tornado warning, but luckily no tornado. Loads of rain. Moving along briskly, though.

mia -- I will probably end up using a stack of books to raise my TV. I have a computer riser I used to use for a laptop but I don't want to see through to the cord. I don't know why I am even concerned because it doesn't have an antenna or a streaming device attached. I have a TV with a built-in DVD player in the bedroom down there where I do my stretching exercises on DVD discs. I am so happy to have a nice space where I can move around. I rearranged the twin beds to have a workout area. We are having lots of rain that will diminish by morning. Are you a member of NEXTDOOR? I think it's a national app for neighborhoods. People around me are always moving and selling Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware pieces for large screen TVs. You or your son should look into it. I got that piece through the App that I blogged about this summer with 16 drawers that takes up a whole wall in my basement sitting room. It is awesome!
Good luck finding something for your son's TV.
