Cornbread on My Counter

I will do anything to keep from going grocery shopping until I am out of everything and I am almost to that point, but not quite. I added a can of drained whole kernel corn to the mix this week and it is delicious. The cocktail tomatoes on the vine are just for making this photo a little more exciting and colorful. They will make for a delicious sandwich later. Happy Friday. xo

Me, too. Have always been inclined to reduce pantry and refrigerator contents before restocking . . . in part, an inventive menu challenge but honestly, I seem to be hard wired to do this. A frustration to my retired quartermaster husband who takes seriously his purpose in provisioning our goods.

Linda -- Can your husband be trusted to grocery shop alone? Does he come with when you shop? My biggest downfall when I shop is bring home snacks which I don't need. I never got the hang of food shopping online either. It's good to hear you have the same way of doing things.

That cornbread looks good! I've always tried to stockpile basic foods, then pick up fresh items as needed. I think we save money, time and effort by shopping less often, too.
