A Blue Jay Portrait

I have been trying to get a good photograph of a blue jay ever since I started feeding the birds last fall. Today was the day he stopped right outside my door to the balcony and I got a great shot. A good friend nearby sent me the name of a plow person and I have hired him for tomorrow. Today I will work on digging out my car and my generator. We might get another three inches of snow today so tomorrow is the perfect day. xo

Beautiful Colors ours are Green and red.
Hope you can manage with all the snow!

I don't think I've ever seen a blue jay with such clarity. Beautiful! I'm glad you were able to hire someone to move your snow, Rosemary. That must be a big relief. I keep thinking that we're already in February, so maybe our wintry days will fly by. One can hope...

He's beautiful. You always get the most amazing wild life shots, Rosemary. What kind of camera do you use, and how do you get so close?

lisa, I have an old Nikon D-40 digital camera with an 18-200mm zoom lense. I take all of my bird photos in my living room through the glass on one of my French doors. I have the lens zoomed all the way out. After I transfer the huge photo to my computer I crop out everything but the bird. Then I edit it with Snapseed, a free photo editing App. That's the story. I am glad you like my wildlife shots.
xo, Rosemary
