Edinburgh's Hogmanay (New Year) with Drones

Due to Covid-19, 150 individual drones took the place of fireworks this year in Edinburgh Scotland's New Year's Celebration called Hogmanay. I have never heard of this term mentioned on Instagram and I'm glad I decided see what it was all about. I am posting the celebration in 3 videos below:

I took a photo of the one-pound bag of frozen Chopped Collard Greens I use. I have seen them at Walmart too under their private label. I searched Google Images if you want to look for brands in your area. I had a replay of my New Year's Day supper today with the addition of a slow, oven-baked sweet potato and it was delicious. I had a very productive day moving bits around and putting them back where they belong. I am on one of my organizing frenzies and it feels good. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend. xo

For collard greens, fresh collard greens are readily available here year-round. I like organic collards the farmers market brings in from California because the leaf is a little smaller, which means they are more tender and they don’t take very long to cook, particularly if you want to just slice very thin and sauté them. I did purchase a bag of frozen ones the other day that I’m going to try. There’s a particular sweet potato that I like, the “Beauregard,” which I believe was first grown in Louisiana, but is also now grown in California and maybe other locations as well. I find that also at the farmers market.

JudyMac -- We don't have year-round farmers markets up here, at least none that I know of. Whole Foods is the only place that identifies the name of sweet potatoes and I always buy the ones called JEWEL because they are so sweet. ShopRite, where I shop most often, never names anything other than apples. I am trying to eat more green in the New Year, especially collards. Let me know how you like the frozen ones that I find so handy.

My Chris got a drone for Christmas; I sent him these links. That was amazing, beautiful and mesmerizing. I particularly loved the first segment. Thank you for sharing this Rosemary.

Sent the link for Edinburgh Hogmanay to many friends. Absolutely wonderful, especially the poetry read with the Scottish lilts.
