Farm Sink and Topiaries

What is that extra faucet on the left? If it were Instant Hot it would not have dual handles. This kitchen detail has so many things to love; the extra-deep farm sink, marble counters, white cabinets, polished chrome faucets, big window, wonderful houseplants, black hardware. What is that counter cabinet behind the topiary in the clay pot? A garage for appliances? Does it pull up like a garage door? I hope so, otherwise you would have to clear the counter in order to open it. The rest of the kitchen must be nice too because this snapshot is very well thought out. Happy Sunday. xo

You certainly have an eye for detail and logic. Maybe that faucet on the left if for those annoying people who just have to get some water when you're using the faucet, now.

I wondered the same thing re the extra faucet having two handles...and the appliance garage door seems awkward there since it's not a scroll...but love it otherwise!

justaweecatnap -- I have been thinking maybe this extra faucet is connected to a special filter under the sink for drinking water and hot water for cooking. Who knows? It is very customized to the owner's needs. Maybe she has a houseful of "those annoying people" you mentioned. :-)

JEANNE ILLENYE -- You are right about the mystery door. It would have an accordion scroll in order to open as an appliance garage, but it does not. So it will remain an awkward door to house little-used things in a kitchen that we love.

I have been assisting a friend who has cancer and she has an extra faucet at her sink attached to a really expensive water filter. She only drinks and uses water for cooking from that faucet. I would imagine the plants to right of the sink are just there for a photo shoot and normally the counter is clear so that access to the little cupboard isn't too difficult. I regret not putting in a farm sink, at the time I was just trying to keep the costs down. I try not to have farm sink envy.

The Queen Vee -- Victoria, I think you are absolutely right about the second faucet. It could be a reverse osmosis system or an expensive filtration system for drinking water and cooking water. How nice of you to be giving assistance to your friend.
There are things I wish I had done when remodeling my cottage so I try to enjoy those things vicariously. I'm just happy with the things I did and I am sure you are too. There is no such thing as the perfect house.
