Storm Damage and Frost on Leaves

This is a photo of the tall tree that snapped next door and fell my way. It missed my cast iron rooster or chicken, my birdbath and the brick wall cushioned the fall in such a way that absolutely nothing was damaged. It could have been so much worse. I can't complain and the added exercise I am getting from picking up sticks is sorely needed.

I was on my second mug of coffee when I decided to go outside and snap these photos. I wish I had gone out while the water was boiling for my French Press to get more frost on these leaves. It was almost melted but you can see the outline on the center leaf. It was in the 20s but the bright sun felt warm. Have a great weekend. xo

Oh my, I'm so glad you escaped damage! Barely, as observed in the photo, but a miss is a miss! And a welcome one. Maybe when the owners cut the tree up, they will share the firewood? ;)

I posted this last night, Rosemary, but it bears repeating. I'm so glad you are safe and that no one was hurt. I've never experienced a large tree like that snapping, or falling down, close to me, but I've heard it sounds like a loud clap of thunder. How scary.

You may have already heard this. I believe it made the national news. The small town where I live in the greater San Francisco bay area was the site of that Halloween party where there was a mass shooting and five people, so far, have died. It's a shock to us, as this sort of thing doesn't happen in little Orinda, California. The house was a short term rental, and the renter falsely claimed she was renting it for her family who were trying to escape the poor air quality from all the fires we've had. It's tragic and has pretty much terrified our community.

Rosemary, you have such a wonderful outlook on cleaning up the debris left by the fallen tree! Love the frost-outlined leaves. Beautiful!!

So glad you had no damage. I'm always glad fallen limbs are down and didn't hit me or my dogs.
