Hello Novmber

I posted this image one year ago a tan color HERE. So far, I have posted January through November in Red. The description for the tan one at Harvard can be read here

We had a horrible rain and wind storm overnight and I woke up to a tall tree from my next door neighbor's property over the part of my driveway leading down to my red barn and the canopy of the tree with no leaves in my front garden. No damage was done and a tree person said my part of the cleanup will be very inexpensive. It was horrible just after midnight when I woke up to see what was happening outside. And then I heard the crash but could not determine the source. I slept soundly somehow and found the tree when I opened my front door. Power never went off and many people all around me had much worse damage. All that on Halloween night too. Yikes. Hope you didn't have any damage. xo

Sorry that your neighbor lost a tree, and sorry you have a clean-up project. So glad you and your property were unharmed, though. So many are struggling with the west coast fires and now the weather struck friends out east. Fingers crossed for things to settle down soon!

Pam -- My neighbor lost many trees on her wooded property. My cottage is surrounded by wooded parkland and the woods next door. All of my own trees are the evergreens I planted for privacy brought from my old house. I am close to the road and they give me wonderful privacy. I think being planted close together protects them from fierce winds. We think the storm was the fringe of a tornado that hit Madison, a nearby town. Many here are without power but I never lost mine. I might drive around today and assess the damage at the end of my street. I feel very blessed about my fortunate "windfall". It was over in a flash unlike the horrible fires in California that continue to spread. Today is a beautiful Sunday and I got an extra hour of sleep. Yay.
