Guest Dog in my Living Room

Meet Harper. She was quite interested in a nature program about alligators. I had her for a few days while her owners enjoyed an out of town trip.

Aw, adorable picture and Harper looks quite at home. I know you must have your own reasons, but I've been surprised you haven't gotten another dog. It's hard balancing the companionship they provide with the responsibility, isn't it?

Mama Pea -- The first day was awful. I told myself I would never get another dog. Accidents in the house, lots of growling, then she bit me when I was finally able to corner her to put on her leash. After that, I never took it off. She is a rescue dog from Puerto Rico and was a street dog. She knew me from my visits to her house but she had never been to mine. Then she settled down and became my fiend. After that it was okay.

Oh dear. My first question was going to be, "Is she a good house guest?" Now I know. I love animals, but don't think I could deal with a dog that bit.

What a good friend you are...babysitting a dog is pretty fun.

P.S. I know I already told you, but thank you so much for sharing Kanopy with us. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Karen -- Kanopy is the best, isn't it? I am thrilled that my library offers it. I take full advantage of my 10 film limit too. If I get to the end of the month and haven't used all of them, I watch several short films until I reach my limit. xo, Rosemary

Lisa -- I tried to be understanding. Harper was an abused dog in her past life and hopefully, I helped her with her trust issues. She was an absolute angel after we became blood sisters. I will definitely dog sit her again.

I'm dog sitting two grand dogs even as i type. I don't get much done as they want to play chase the ball and tug o war continually. I wish my boys would not pick the same week to go on vacation because watching these two cute dogs together is exhausting and I don't get much done. I adore them both but one is a diva and sometimes bullies the smaller younger dog. I wish these two could be enthralled with an alligator program.

You are a great friend and a knowledgeable, patient and understanding dog carer. At this point in my life I don't want to own a dog so being the family kennel is the perfect way to enjoy a dog for a few days.
