Have a Safe July 4th Holiday

Have a safe trip if you are going to be on the road for any distance, or a nice picnic if it's a short trip. I am going across town for a cookout with friends. Happy July 4th!!!

Hope your holiday was fun, Rosemary. Our forecasted rain has held off . . . at least as of 6 p.m. now. We do need the rain though so it can come right after the fireworks display tonight!

Across town sounds like a perfect distance! My husband and I hung a large flag from the front porch early this morning, but within a few hours we took it down when thunderstorms threatened. No matter what the weather does, we will still celebrate this country that we love. Happy July 4th, Rosemary!!

What did you wind up taking to the party?

Gail, norther California -- I took a big glass bowl full of watermelon chunks and blueberries. I also took corn on the cob that I shucked at home and wrapped the ears in waxed paper all ready for the microwave at the party. I cooked 5 ears for 6 minutes and it was perfect. Everything was delicious and the weather was nice enough to eat outside. There was hardly any traffic driving over and it was still light when I got home. It was a great July 4th. Hope yours was too.
xo, Rosemary

We gathered with 22 family members then added 7 friends of the teen grands for a big barbecue and lots of fireworks. Every year my sons provide us with a fireworks display. I'm always grateful at the end when no one gets hurt. Utahns love their fireworks and shoot them off all the month of July. Our neighborhood has been covered in flags and bunting since Flag Day and everyone keeps up their decor through the month of July. As I type I can hear someone shooting off fireworks right now....guess I'll go outside and check them out.
