Don't you just love this quote? I can't imagine living without Spring because I really come alive then after a long winter of being inside. I have to work extra hard to get things done before the hot weather sets in and I absolutely wilt. We are having an extra-late Spring and I'm loving it. xo

Dandelions in TN.
Teri -- HaHaHa, that's hilarious. Do dandelions really bloom all year long in Tennessee?

Timing is everything . . . GREATLY appreciated is this reminder to take advantage of my seasonal surge in pep. Thank you, dear Rosemary.
Linda -- I take it you don't maintain that pep when it gets hot either. Getting up early to work outside is my plan to keep up with my mowing before the broiling sun gets overhead this summer. Or waiting until the cool of the late afternoon and evening. I'm having a wonderful spring.

I've been getting up early to work out in the garden, too. I have rows of itty bitty radishes and broccoli breaking through the soil. The potatoes are really putting on leaves. There were enough asparagus spears to make two nice servings for dinner. We were delighted with it! Now that we're getting on in years, we are content with a smaller garden. We move a bit slower and take more breaks, but caring for our yard and garden continues to bring us satisfaction.
We have had an unusually wet and chilly spring. One doesn't associate wet with a desert state but wet it has been and I have been joyfully wallowing in it while longer lived residents have been complaining. I know that far too soon we will be living with 90-100 degree temps for weeks on end. The green of spring will soon disappear replaced with lots of irrigation and yellowed fields. It does cool off at night and far to soon the early summer mornings or evenings will be the best times to pull weeds and mow the grass.
ROSEMARY - yes, best ti spend the early morning hours of summer in our gardens and for walks . . . later in the day, I wilt. Still, as much as the AC is a part of salvation during the hot weather, I find it more confining that winter.
We shall make the most of our days . . . onward into the growing season
