I watched a series on Netflix called "Lords and Ladles". It is about three chefs who go off and cook a period meal at country manor houses/castles in the UK. Usually in homes that are still owned by the original family. Many times cooking a huge meal that was served in one of the houses in a year like 1758. Very elaborate and totally gross ingredients in many of those recipes. Sorry, I digress.... Each time I have seen those chefs confronted with having to cook on a AGA they are none too happy about it! I think the much prefer a gas flame.
tammy j -- I am so glad you like this image. It really is priceless. Those paws on the right are enormous. Those dogs look so cozy and determined to stay put. xo, Rosemary
Catherine -- That show sounds delightful. Cooking on an AGA takes dedication and practice. There is no in between, you either love them or hate them. Having an auxiliary gas cooktop is common here in the kitchens I have seen with AGAs. xo, Rosemary
Fascinating! Dogs love warmth! Our dogs adore our radiant heat in our floors! I bet that picture is in a cold house without central or radiant heat! An Aga is like a radiator.....or fireplace....aren't dogs just the best??
In the "winter" (we don't really have one); our dogs curl up on the warm floor in front of the fireplaces!
Adorable picture, Rosemary. You are the best! Dogs and cats....best in one week!!!
Penelope Bianchi -- Penny, I would love to curl up with those dogs too. Winter is coming and I am trying to get ready, bringing firewood into the house, etc. Your radiant floors sound wonderful! xo, Rosemary
This is a wonderful picture and caption!!!! I love the looks on their faces, and have seen them recently on the face of my cat! She OFTEN does not approve of what I am planning to do and looks at me like "Mom....are you crazy??" Thanks for a big smile, J
